I have recently been asked to participate in the Dove Diaries campaign by an Australian fashion and lifestyle site called 2threads. As part of the campaign, 2threads is inviting various beauty bloggers to share their beauty regimes and favorite beauty tips. I am really excited to be among the selected beauty bloggers and my blog will also be featured soon in the Dove Diaries section on 2threads. I have been thinking of doing a post on beauty tips anyways as it’s been a while so without further ado, let’s move on to some easy beauty tidbits :
• I am a total lipstick junkie but usually avoid very dark, matte lipcolors as matte lipsticks lack the emollients in creamier formulas and sometimes give a cakey look. As for the dark colors, they make thin lips like mine look even thinner. To make your lipstick last longer and enhance the color, use a bit of concealer or foundation on lips first and then apply straight from the tube.
• For everyday makeup, restrict mascara and eyeliner to the top lash line, which “opens up” the eyes and helps make you look more awake. Even a little smudging of your eyeliner or mascara on the lower lash line can emphasize any dark undereye circles and that makes you look tired (and older). For special occasions when you might want to create a sexy smoky eye, go light on your lower lashes.
• In order to make your blush stay put, apply a cream blush first on your cheekbones, (it creates a base) blending with your fingertips and then top it off with a powder blush
• If you’re having breakouts, go easy on the foundation and spot cover. Makeup used to cover up pimples tends to clog pores and cause more blemishes. Try to ice the pimple for a few minutes before covering it with a liquid concealer (preferably with a zit-zapping ingredient like salicylic acid). The cold temperature helps reduce inflammation.
• Want to make your small eyes look bigger? Then it’s better to stay away from dark eyeshadows and opt for soft, natural shades like pearlized pink-sand or sheer bronzy-browns. Also, try a light purple eyeliner instead of your usual black or brown as it’s a subtle way to make the color of your eyes pop!
• This one comes from my mom since she used to do it all the time – layer your current lip shades to create new pretty options. Try to combine brown and pink to get a rose shade or whatever you have on hand – it’s fun! This gives you extra mileage with your existing lippies and mixing two lip colors also make lips look fuller.
• Olive oil is an amazing cure for all things dry! Once a week, I soak up my face in olive oil for half an hour and then use a gentle sulfate-free face wash to rinse out. If you have extra dry skin, you can also use olive oil instead of your night cream once a week for extra hydration and keep your skin supple!
I hope you find these tips useful!

Great tips! I love lipsticks too and stray away from matte lipsticks as well. For some reason, matte lipsticks seem to age and dry out my lips!
