Sephora Collection Colorful Mono Eyeshadow in Lesson of Seduction (no.89) is described as a strawberry sherbet with iridescent shimmer. Formulated without parabens, this is a pressed powder eyeshadow with a slightly metallic shimmer finish.
From Sephora’s website: Sephora Collection Mono Eyeshadow has the perfect, high-payoff combination of brilliant color, an easy-blending formula, and endless versatility that will revolutionize your eye-makeup outlook and deliver show-stopping effects. This expert formula comes in three fabulous finishes: matte, glittering, and metallic shimmer.
I have a soft spot for golden pinks so it’s hard to resist a gorgeous shade like Lesson of Seduction (wonder how they come up with such names….I like it though 😉 Texture wise, the formula is soft and easy to blend without any fall out issues. As excited as I was about the color, it turned out to be a bit disappointing because of a serious lack of pigment. I am not a bold-eyeshadow-girl by any means but this color is very sheer and needs several swipes to show up nicely on my lids. Plus, there’s way too much gold shimmer… I love shimmer but that’s not all I want in my eyeshadow. With an eyeshadow primer, the color lasts for about 4-5 hours after which I noticed considerable fading. There was no creasing problem but I’d expect a little more in terms of staying power for the price ($12)
Would I buy again? I am not so sure about that. It’s just an okay product and with so many cheaper & better-performing drugstore options, I am not too keen on going back for more anytime soon. The wide selection of shades available (almost 80) in the Sephora collection mono eyeshadow line is definitely impressive and maybe the matte ones have a much better payoff.
