Brighten Up with Karuna Brightening Treatment Mask

Jul 2, 2012 by

I have to admit I am not much into using face masks. I love my skincare but none of the face masks I’ve tried so far have been able to pave their way into my beauty routine. That might just change now that I’ve met Karuna Brightening Treatment Masks!

Karuna Brightening Face mask

From Karuna

Grapefruit Seed Extract deflects environmental toxins from the skin, while rare Asian plant extracts help to create a fresher-looking, smoother-feeling complexion. All Karuna masks contain a custom blended Beauty Boost. Plant extracts, peptides and anti-oxidants bring care and compassion to all skin types with a feeling of hydration, nourishment and renewal. Plus, Karuna masks are made of all-natural fiber cloth and are a truly green and luxurious alternative to the synthetic competition.

Ingredients – Water (Aqua), Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycerin, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Seed Extract, Saxifraga Sarmentosa Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Extract, Morus Bombycis Root Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Niacinamide, Butylene Glycol, Propylene Glycol, Salicylic Acid, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4, Glycosyl Trehalose, Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate, Xanthan Gum, Polysorbate 20, Carbomer, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance (Parfum)

First off, I love the packaging! Karuna face masks come beautifully packaged in a box that contains 4 sachets with individually wrapped masks in each. The masks are made up of all-natural fiber cloth (from bio-degradable wood pulp) that retains 50% more moisture than synthetic material, helping pores fully absorb the paraben-free beneficial ingredients.

How to use the mask?

Start with a freshly washed face. Gently unfold the mask and place wet cloth side on face, adjusting eyes, nose, and mouth openings to fit. Remove the plastic backing and relax for 10-20 minutes with mask in place. Once you take the mask off from face, there’s no need to rinse. Gently massage any remaining product into your neck and hands. Use once weekly or as often desired as a regular part of you skincare ritual for a healthy, beautiful complexion.

The mask stays perfectly in place for the 20 minutes I have it on my face and has a slightly cooling, very soothing feel on the skin. It’s also lightly fragranced, very pleasant! After peeling off the mask, there’s a little residue (serum) left on the skin, it’s a bit sticky but soaks in fast as you massage it all over your face and neck.

So, did I notice an instant brightening effect? Yes! There’s no dramatic difference but the mask definitely makes my skin look and feel really smooth, soft and rejuvenated with a healthy glow! This brightening (plus moisturizing) mask is the perfect pick-me-up for dull, tired skin…….it’s like I just had a spa facial!

At $28 for a pack of 4 or 1 month’s supply (recommended use one mask a week) which means $7 a mask, Karuna Brightening Treatment Mask is an affordable way to have bright, fresh-looking skin in as little as 15 minutes! Beautifully packaged, travel-friendly and easy to use, it also makes a great gift and being a natural product, it’s gentle on the skin too.

There are 8 different types of Karuna Masks to choose from : Skin Restoring, Brightening, Exfoliating, Hydrating, Clarifying, Age-Defying, Anti-Oxidant, and Renewal Eye. Available at Karunaskin.com
