January Labs is a new natural skincare line whose products are formulated based on the belief that skincare doesn’t need to be complicated. Founded by January Olds, a licensed aesthetician and Southern California native, January Labs offers luxury skincare using only natural, environmentally responsible ingredients in lieu of the harsh chemicals and irritants that may be harmful to skin.
I have been testing out January Labs Moisture Balancing Lotion which is a mild plant-based lotion designed to re-hydrate and restore balance to all skin types. Let’s see how it scored…..
Features and Benefits:
Squalane: an olive oil-based ingredient that hydrates the skin while keeping it soft and supple
Shea Butter: a natural plant extract that is used as an emollient to moisturize, soften, and smooth the skin
Green Tea Extract: a natural antioxidant that soothes and nurtures overworked skin
Aloe Extract: moisturizes and heals irritated and stressed skin
Avocado Oil: a rich ingredient containing beneficial fatty acid that nurtures and protects the skin from moisture loss and dehydration, re-balancing dryness and comforting delicate skin
Chamomile: known for its hydrating and calming properties, this ingredient re-balances dryness and helps restore the skin’s radiance and freshness
Linseed Oil: compensates for skin lacking Omega-3’s, revitalizing its smoothness and softness
Olive Oil: helps maintain the elasticity and softness of skin
Ingredient list :
Water, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Squalene, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Organic Aloe Vera Leaf Juice, Sunflower Oil, Polysorbate-60, Organic Cranberry Seed Oil, Organic Avocado Oil, Organic Olive Oil, Evening Primrose Extract, Linseed Seed Oil, Organic Cucumber Fruit Extract, Organic Shea Butter, Starflower Seed Oil, Argan Oil, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Behenyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Palm Oil, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-3, Tetrahydroxypropyl Ethylenediamine, Carbomer, Jojoba Seed Oil, Sesame Seed Oil, Shea Butter Fruit, Avocado Oil, Lime Oil, Goji Berry, Chamomile Extract, Green Tea Leaf Extract, Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate
The Moisture Balancing Lotion has a really lightweight, silky texture that just slips on my skin. The formula doesn’t have a sticky or greasy feel and sinks right in without leaving much of a residue. You just need a dime sized amount to cover your face and neck so a little goes a long way with this lotion.
Since the product doesn’t have any SPF, I have been using it only at night after cleansing and toning. As a hydrating lotion, this is absolutely spot on. It gives me soft, supple and super hydrated skin in the morning, and I love that. There is no synthetic fragrance in the formula but it has a subtle scent that’s very pleasant. I usually don’t care about scents in my skincare products but I am hooked to this one!
Overall, this is a superb lightweight lotion that should be suitable for all skin types. It’s loaded with natural anti-oxidants & organic essential oils to treat dullness while adding a surge of moisture and it really does that. The product is also well-priced at $28 for 2 oz.
January Labs Moisture Balancing Lotion is available for purchase on JanuaryLabs.com and top day spas nationwide. Their products are Paraben free, Sulfate free, Fragrance free, Mineral oil free and Cruelty free.Disclosure: This review features a sample product provided by PR for consideration only and reflects my honest opinion as always!
