We all have our preferences when it comes to makeup, skincare or fragrance. Just the other day, while reading ‘Top picks for Fall ’ section on a fashion magazine’s website, I started wondering about my beauty favorites . My high-end faves include Lancome Photogenic liquid foundation, Nars Orgasm blush, MAC strobe liquid and Nymphette lipgloss. These are all quite popular and for good reasons! For this post, I decided to list my must-haves that do an excellent job at bargain prices. Check it out…….you might find your new go-to product!
Avon Foot Works Overnight Renewing foot cream – This is a really good hydrating foot cream with moisturizing ingredients like Jojoba oil and glycerin that heals dry skin and helps to keep your feet soft. Its actual price is $6 but you can grab 2 for $6 in a BOGO Avon Footworks sale. Has a light refreshing smell too!
Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Single Penny – This is actually my first Wet n Wild purchase and I must say it’s a wonderful drugstore find. Penny is a beautiful coppery/peachy -pink shade with golden shimmer that looks very flattering on my brown eyes. It’s much prettier on the eyes than it seems in the pan. This eyeshadow is really smooth and pigmented and blends so easily. The staying power is pretty good too with a primer and there is minimal fallout . I am not impres sed by the packaging but for just $2 , no complaints!
Revlon Super lustrous Lip gloss SPF 15 (Nude Lustre) – Just like the popular Revlon super lustrous lipstick, this gloss gives you a soft creamy finish. Nude lustre is a lovely sheer peachy nude gloss that beautifully enhances your natural lip color if you wear it alone. Sometimes I pair this gloss with my matte lipsticks (especially browns and corals) and it gives a natural shine to the colors. The texture is just right and not sticky or runny and lasts decently long enough. I really like that it has no weird smell or taste and has SPF 15 to protect your lips. This is a not a super cheap gloss but I got it for around 4 bucks in a Revlon 40% off week at Walgreens.
Yes to Carrots conditioning lip butter with Spf 15 – I am already a fan of Yes to Carrots brand simply because all their products have mostly natural and skin- nourishing ingredients. Infused with olive oil, coconut oil and shea butter, this lip balm instantly hydrates lips and also protects them from UV rays with its broad-spectrum (physical) sunscreen . I feel so comfortable using it because it’s free of parabens, petroleum or any irritating ingredients like menthol (commonly used in lip balms for cooling sensation). It just applies smoothly without that greasy feeling and doesn’t have a strong fruity taste or smell. Overall, a great product at a great price!($3.69)
Boots Expert Sensitive Gentle Refreshing Toner – It is hard to find a toner without alcohol, fragrance or irritating ingredients like witch hazel which are not good for skin. This gentle toner from Boots is free of all these irritants and is a total steal at about 4 bucks (Target). It sweeps away the last traces of makeup effectively after cleansing and refreshes your skin without feeling dry or tight. I switched from my Clinique mild clarifying lotion to this one because this works equally well at less than half the price. (If you want a toner that exfoliates as well then Clinique clarifying lotion is better since it has 1% salicylic acid).
Hope you find this useful! What are your top picks? Would love to hear about more amazing products……share your thoughts.
