Today I am reviewing Stila Stunning in Sayulita palette that I ordered a few weeks ago during the Stila friends and family sale. Stunning in Sayulita is the first of the five limited edition Stila Girl Beach Palettes that Stila cosmetics has launched this year. These palettes retail for $14 each but I got mine for just $11.20 after 20% off with free shipping.
Description from Sephora website :
Inspired by the natural beauty of Sayulita, a picturesque fishing village and popular surfing destination, this palette contains everything you need to create a beautiful look in minutes. It contains four flattering eye shadows, Playa cheek color, and Banderas Bay Highlighter/Bronzer to deliver a sun-kissed, back-from-the-beach glow.
This collectible palette is so cute and includes a mirror as well as instructions on how you can create a look using this palette. Now, let’s talk about the shades.
Eyeshadows
- Starfish (Pale Pink shimmer)
- Sandbar (Chocolate brown shimmer)
- Palm Trees (Leaf Green shimmer)
- Getaway (Pinkish Mauve shimmer)
Blushes
- Playa (Matte, warm Peach)
- Banderas Bay (Shimmery beige-champagne)
The eyeshadow colors in this palette are beautiful and compliment each other well. These shadows have a velvety soft texture that applies smoothly and the shades blend easily. However, the eye colors are not very well pigmented and go on pretty sheer on my fair-medium skintone unless I layer up quite a bit. All the four shades are very wearable and I really like that the shimmer is not over-the-top and just leave behind a nice sheen (the colors might look too shimmery below as I swatched them heavily). My favorite of the bunch is (surprisingly) the green shade Palm Trees as it comes out so pretty and is a lovely shade for summers! Here are the swatches :
The blush Playa is a flattering, soft peachy color that’s very pigmented and needs to be used with a light hand. The highlighter/bronzer Banderas Bay cannot be used as a bronzer at all as the neutral color is way too light to be a bronzer. It has not worked for me as a great highlighter either but I swipe a little on my cheekbones over the matte blush to add a hint of shimmer.
Overall, I am really pleased with the Stila Stunning in Sayulita palette as I can easily use all the shades and they are perfect for every day makeup. This chic & portable palette is also great for travel or quick touchups anytime. And the best part is of course the price as you get 4 eyeshadows and 2 blushes for just $14…….you can’t beat that!
