Nad’s Facial Wax Strips

I always go to a professional salon to get my eyebrows and upper lips threaded. However, I am no stranger to waxing either but prefer threading because of the “ouch’ factor of waxing technique and mainly because of the messy feeling. But when I received these Nad’s faclal wax strips for review, I decided to give them a try for their no-mess and convenience factor.

These strips come in a pack of 20 (10 double-sided) and each set of strips is coated with Nad’s natural wax formula and fused together with wax in between.

 

Before waxing, it’s important to make sure that your skin is clean, dry, and free of oils or moisturizers so I washed my face and allowed it to completely dry before application.

The directions are simple :

• Briskly rub strips between palms to warm the wax
• Slowly separate a double strip into 2 strips
• Apply strip with firm pressure and firmly smooth over 3-4 times in direction of hair growth with your fingers
• Holding skin taut, pull strip back quickly as close to the skin as possible in the opposite direction of hair growth. Do not treat the same area more than twice
• Remove any left over wax residue with the soothing & finishing wipes provided.

This was the first time I’ve used a wax product at home and I must say it was not bad at all! I followed the directions properly and to be honest, they hurt  although not anymore than any other wax strips. I was a little worried that the strips might leave my sensitive skin irritated but my face was not red in the least and there were no breakouts the day after. While these didn’t work so well on the baby fuzz around my jawline, the strips did a good job of removing hair on my upper lips with two quick pulls on each side of the lip. I did not use them on/around my eyebrows.

I really like the soothing and finishing wipes as they take care of the residual wax nicely but the kit comes with only 2 after care soothing wipes which are obviously not sufficient. There is no way I am going to use all the wax strips in two sessions, so that’s definitely a downside of the product. (you’ll probably have to use baby oil or aloe vera lotion to remove excess wax)

Overall, Nad’s facial wax strips are a convenient, hassle-free and inexpensive ($6) option to get rid of unwanted facial hair. These are easy to use anywhere, anytime and just perfect for quick touch-ups in-between salon appointments.
