I bought LA Splash Illuminating Highlighting Pressed Shadow in Illumination a while ago at Ulta but just realized it hasn’t got its fair share of attention on the blog. It was more of an impulse purchase but definitely not one that I regret!
The LA Splash Illuminating Highlighting Pressed Shadow comes in a twist top pot and is embossed with a gorgeous flower pattern. The shade I picked up is called Illumination – it’s a bronzy-pink with a soft golden sheen. The duochrome formula takes on different colors depending on what light you’re in and which shadows you pair it with.
The texture is really soft, applies and blends very well. It’s not heavy on shimmer and there is no fallout or anything. The color payoff is superb too and doesn’t require a lot of “packing on”. The eyeshadow doesn’t budge, fade or crease lasting all day when used with a primer.
Interestingly, when I swatched this shade for the first time, I thought I had found a great dupe for MAC Expensive pink but that’s not the case because although it’s a bit similar, Illumination is way more pink than the MAC favorite. Dupe or not, it’s a beautiful color anyways and I am really pleased with my purchase! For just $4.99, this eyeshadow is almost as good as the expensive stuff!
LA Splash Illuminating Highlighting Pressed Shadow in Illumination is available at Ulta stores and online at Ulta.com and Cherryculture.com for $4.99.
