Eucerin is a skincare brand I have always trusted because of their effective formulas with quality ingredients that work well, without irritating sensitive skin. And their latest offering – Professional Repair Extremely Dry Skin Lotion – is no exception. It contains 10% Urea, the highest percentage you can get without a prescription, to alleviate tight, flaky skin and repair dry spots. It also features gluco-glycerol to improve moisture supply to stratum corneum ( skin’s outermost layer) and ceramide-3 to help with barrier function and reduce water loss.
Although it is an intensely hydrating formula, I don’t find the consistency to be extra thick or heavy. My dry skin just soaks up the lotion instantly and it doesn’t feel greasy or sticky. The lotion is free of any dyes or fragrance which is always a plus for sensitive skin. However, I noticed a faint smell while applying (probably because of the urea) but thankfully it doesn’t stick around.
You can count on this lotion to take care of those dry, rough patches and also keep your knees, elbows soft. Since this product contains exfoliating alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), which may increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun, be sure to cover up with a suncreen or wear protective clothing when outdoors, while using this product.
So, the bottom line is if you have dry to very skin like me, you need to try this out. It can really help heal severely dry, scaly skin. Available now at drugstores and mass market retailers nationwide for $7.99
