Today I have a quick review of Carol’s daughter Roses & Honey Lip Balm. I had never tried anything from Carol’s Daughter before but a few weeks ago, I came across a rave review of one of their products which led me to Carol’s Daughter website. I think the brand is more popular for their haircare products but since I am a WEN devotee, the hair care collections didn’t catch my fancy and I ended up buying this lip balm and a couple of other things (I also managed to find a free shipping code)
Ingredients – Hydrogenated Coconut oil, Beeswax, Euphorbia cerifera (Candelilla) wax, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond Oil), Butyrospernum Parkii (Shea Butter), Flavor (Aroma), Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract
Formulated with all-natural ingredients, this lip balm is very moisturizing and nourishing without being greasy or waxy. Once applied, you wouldn’t need to reapply like every 30 minutes. It stays on for at least 2 hours and keeps your lips feeling comfortable and moist even after it’s gone. It also adds a bit of shine and goes well under lipglosses and lipsticks.
Since there is no SPF protection in the formula, I use it mostly at night. For a long time, Paula’s Choice lip and body butter has been my go-to lip balm for night-time as it moisturizes amazingly well. But for the warmer months ahead, I would be reaching more for this lightweight yet hydrating lip balm plus it’s more sanitary since I don’t have to use my finger to apply.
The only thing I don’t really like about this lip balm is the scent. I am not sure how to describe it but it’s a sweet scent with just a hint of rose, that’s not quite pleasant to my nose. Since the scent is not too strong, I am kind of okay with it. The lip balm also has a slightly sweet taste which is nice!
Carols Daughter Roses & Honey Moisturizing Lip Balm retails for $4 and is available at Carol’s Daughter website.
