You’ve already heard me rave about the luxurious Sensai Rouge Intense Lasting Color lipsticks in this post. In addition to makeup, Sensai also has an extensive range of skincare products based on the precious qualities of Japan’s Koishimaru silk. I tried out one of Sensai’s facial cleansers – Silky Purifying Creamy Soap.
Product Description
A creamy cleanser with a rich lather containing a plentiful supply of luxurious ingredients. The silky smooth lather gently gets rid of dirt on the skin. For women who prefer a moist sensation. Ideal for normal to dry and combination skin.
True to its name, Sensai Silky Purifying Creamy Soap has a luxuriously silky cream consitency. Despite being completely free of any sulfates, it produces a lavish foam to remove dirt and impurities and leaves skin feeling thoroughly clean and smooth, with no hint of dryness. And you just need a very small amount to get the job done. It rinses away easily as well and does not leave any residue on the skin. Honestly, I am very surprised at how soft and smooth my skin feels after using this cleanser, as if I have used an exfoliating face wash. And did I mention I am also enamored by the lovely scent of this facial clenaser…..very pleasant and refreshing! It’s not strong and does’t linger once the cleanser is washed off.
Sensai recommends using the Silky Purifying Creamy Soap after removing your makeup with an oil-based cleanser first (that’s why it says Step 2 on the package). Now I have to tell you that I prefer to use a makeup remover first to take off all my makeup and then wash my face. However, I found that on days when all I wore was my tinted moisturizer and non waterproof eye makeup, this cleanser alone was enough to remove it all. I did notice that once I rinsed this cleanser off I had no residue left on the cotton pads from my toner.
It’s also worth noting that this cleanser has been kind to my currently breakout-prone skin (these pimples are so frustrating….maybe it’s my hormones acting up). I have been using this cleanser daily and it didn’t seem to make the situation worse.
Overall, Sensai Silky Purifying Creamy Soap is a fabulous cleanser for normal-to dry and combination skin types. It retails for $50 (4.3 oz) which is obviously a bit too expensive. But if you are a fan of gentle and luxurious creamy cleansers, I think you would really like this one! Available at Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman.

Summer says
I love Kanebo but I heard some of their products contain mineral oil which clogs my pores horribly, I was wondering if this product contains mineral oils? If not I think I might have to splurge!
