As you guys already know, zinc oxide is my favorite form of sunscreen. As a physical UV blocker – it protects against the entire UV spectrum and is very gentle, which makes it suitable for all skin types, even those with very sensitive skin. Unfortunately, it can also leave an unattractive white cast on the skin, which is why a lot of people prefer to avoid this ingredient. So I am always happy to find a zinc-oxide based sunscreen which doesn’t have that problem. Enter Cleure Natural Suncreen SPF 30.

The consistency of this product is a little on the thick side but doesn’t feel heavy or greasy and absorbs pretty quickly with a matte finish and NO white residue. The formula is quite moisturizing to act as a daily SPF moisturizer on my dry skin, thanks to the 100% Pure Shea Butter in the mix! It also works great under makeup. The non-comedogenic (does not clog pores) formula is also said to be suitable for blemish-prone skin.
As there are no artificial fragrances, dyes or harsh irritants in the formula, it is suitable for use around eyes to provide the crucial broad-spectrum sun protection. Its only flaw is that this sunscreen has a slightly sticky feel on the skin which doesn’t bother me a lot but I know this can be a problem for some people. Also, the formula lacks any antioxidants (to combat free radicals) which are always a welcome addition to sunscreens.

I’m always on the look out for a good sunscreen without harmful chemical ingredients. This looks like a great one, just wish it were a little more on the light side.
I just got this and could hardly even smooth it on my face without pulling the skin, and it left a white dry sticky surface on my face. Was so looking forward to this. Will return it.
Colleen – I am sorry to hear that this sunscreen didn’t work well for you. As I mentioned in my review, it is a bit sticky but other than that I had no issues.
