In honor of Mother’s day, Almay Makeup Moments with Mom campaign features the stunning Kate Hudson, Almay’s global brand ambassador and her gorgeous mom Goldie Hawn. This is a Facebook contest in which Almay is inviting women to share their most memorable mother/daughter makeup moment along with a favorite photo for a chance to win a trip to NYC and makeovers for two!
Growing up, I rememeber my mom never cared much about makeup. She did take good care of her skin though and never forgot moisturizing and washing her face at night. She wore makeup only on special occasions and her mantra has always been ‘less is more when it comes to makeup’. Her little makeup stash included only a few lipsticks and a compact foundation (and as a little girl I always used to wonder how that colorless powder can make you look pretty :))
One thing that my mom used to do all the time (and she still does that!) was layer one lip color over another to create a new pretty shade! Not only did that trick always got her compliments about her lip color from her friends but it also gave her extra mileage with the existing lip colors. Her love for lipstick is perhaps one of the reasons I am a bit of a lipstick junkie!
