Think you can skimp on SPF in the winter? Think again, since UV rays can interfere with your skin-barrier function and reduce moisture retention so daily sun protection is essential to prevent premature signs of aging and skin damage.
My latest SPF entry is HydroPeptide Solar Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 30 – A lightweight anti-aging day cream with advanced sun defense. Solar Defense features micro-encapsulated pigment spheres that self-adjust to the color of your skin tone and calm the look of redness.
Product description :
HydroPeptide Solar Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 30 physically blocks 97% of UV rays that can cause sun burn and premature aging as it hydrates and protects your skin. This non-greasy sunscreen self-adjusts to match all skin tones, while powerful antioxidants Green tea and Acai berry with anti-inflammatory properties prevent daily oxidative factors from taking a toll on your skin. Niacin and aloe contribute hydrating and calming properties and Galanga root reduces sebaceous gland activity for a clearer, shine-free complexion.

– Includes antioxidants Acai berry & Green Tea and also Aloe + Hyaluronic Acid
– Very Lightweight and quick-absorbing formula
– Non-greasy, satin matte finish appropriate for all skin types
– Cosmetically elegant; doesn’t leave a white, chalky appearance
– Its light, natural-looking tint helps even skin tone beautifully
– Nicely moisturizing, leaves skin soft and smooth (thanks to the moisture-binding peptides)
– Oil-free and non-comedogenic (does not clog pores)
– Doesn’t make me break out
– Convenient packaging in an opaque tube (which prevents the active ingredients from deteriorating) with a pump dispenser
– Paraben Free, Gluten Free, Pthalate Free
What I don’t like :
– Pricey ($44 for 1.7 oz)
Bottom Line
With Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide as the sunscreen actives, this physical SPF formula is right up my alley! I love how elegantly lightweight it is with a non-sticky, matte finish without any white cast so I can wear it all day long without my skin looking shiny by the end of the day. It actually works as a fabulous tinted moisturizer with a light, natural-looking tint that evens out skin tone beautifully and blurs minor imperfections. It also works well as a makeup primer so you can lighten the load on your skin. Pricey, yes—but I think it’s worth the splurge, especially if you are looking for a facial sunscreen/tinted moisturizer with physical sunblock element for your combination to oily skin!
HydroPeptide Solar Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 30 is available at select spas and dermatologist clinics around the world, as well as online at Skinstore.com and Dermstore.com.

StephLouiseATB I have normal to dry skin and it provides enough moisture for me without a shiny finish so I think it should work well for you too.
