Lippie Love : Gerard Cosmetics Lipsticks

Gerard Cosmetics has recently launched a new lipstick collection which includes six long-wearing shades with a velvet matte finish. I am already a fan of their BB Plus+ Illumination Facial Crème which is a fabulous cream highlighter and happy to report that Gerard’s lipsticks are just as fantastic…..let’s take a look!

I tried out 2 shades : 1995 and Tequila Sunrise.

1995 is a beautiful brown nude with rose tones (inspired by the glam and grunge of the 90s). I am really in love with this gorgeous mauve-ish nude shade that’s perfect for fall/winter season! It’s one of my top current favorites and goes with almost any makeup look. I think this is one of those universally flattering shades that would look fab on almost all skin tones. It has a nice matte finish but I like to add a little gloss on top for that extra oomph factor! This shade is also the perfect pick to rock the 2015 color of the year: Marsala

Tequila Sunrise is a soft peachy coral. It’s a lovely, vibrant yet easy-to-wear shade perfect for the warmer spring/summer months…I will definitely be reaching out for it a lot then!

Both the shades are gorgeous and highly pigmented. Although these are matte, the formula is nice and creamy, glides on with ease and doesn’t leave my lips feeling dried out through the day. That said, now that it’s winter (aka the season of dry lips/skin), I like to use a light lip balm before applying the lipstick to keep my lips comfortably hydrated. As for the staying power, the formula lasts for about 5 hours on my lips with light eating & drinking and leaves a light stain of color behind…that’s pretty impressive in my books!
