Most of us have been waiting impatiently to feel the warmth of summer on our skin, but along with the sunshine come invisible UV rays that age our skin faster than anything else you can think of. So what is the most effective anti-aging product you can wear? Sunscreen! SPF should be your BFF, especially as we get into the warmer months, but you already knew that. That said, it’s also one of the trickiest products to find the right fit — especially if you’re battling both acne and early signs of aging like me. Frustrating, right?
Needless to say, I’m always on the lookout for a matte-finish sun protection product that smooths, protects and hydrates my dry skin without making breakouts worse. And I am happy to report that I have found a new SPF favorite that ticks all the right boxes for my finicky, acne-prone skin! Enter – Murad Anti-Aging Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 PA+++ for blemish-prone skin.

Formulated to simultaneously target both hormonal acne and the visible signs of aging, this moisturizer with SPF is one of the best facial sunscreens I’ve tried (and trust me I’ve tried a whole lot!) It has a cosmetically elegant formula with an ultra-light thin lotion texture and absorbs instantly, leaving a smooth matte finish. There is a light scent that’s quite nice and dissipates soon after application.
It’s so light and silky yet very nicely hydrating and keeps my dry skin moisturized all day, without any sticky/greasy feel. Also, it doesn’t leave any white cast at all making it perfect for all skintones from pale to dark. Best of all, it doesn’t mess up my skin in terms of breakouts!
My only little gripe about this product is its chemical sunscreen actives. As you guys probabaly know, I prefer physical sunscreens that include zinc oxide and titanium dioxide but this one doesn’t include any of those. That said, it’s still a wonderful sunscreen that I really enjoy using and it has worked really well for my sensitive skin – no stinging, irritation or redness. So far, so good!
Bottom Line
Murad Anti-Aging Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 PA+++ is the perfect pick for those with acne-prone skin. It hydrates and nourishes skin without feeling thick, creamy, or greasy (all of which can increase breakouts) while protecting against early signs of aging with broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection. With its oil-controlling properties and matte finish, it’s great for all skin types including combination to oily. At $48 for 1.7 oz, it sure is pricey, but if you are looking for an acne-friendly sunscreen that you won’t dread applying in the morning, this one is absolutely worth trying! Pick it up from Murad.com, Sephora or Ulta.
