Urban Decay Vice Lipstick is one of the most exciting new releases this year for lipstick lovers like me! With a massive lineup of 100 shades in 6 different finishes, there are a whole bunch of new lipsticks to covet and collect!
The Vice Lipstick collection is Urban Decay’s biggest launch ever and the shade range has it all from bold brights & dark hues to versatile neutrals for every skin tone – the variety is unbeatable and there’s something for everyone! The huge assortment includes several new shades as well as cult favorites we thought we’d never see again.
According to Urban Decay, the creamy formula is loaded with nourishing ingredients like aloe vera, jojoba, avocado and babassu oils and Illipe butter to nourish lips and provide long-lasting moisture, while the vitamins C and E deliver a hint of antioxidants. As always with most Urban Decay products, the packaging is sleek and modern with an edgy look. The faceted gunmetal case has a gold base and debossed lettering, while the lipstick itself features an embossed “UD.” At the bottom of the case, there’s a shade-matched label (including the shade name and finish) to make it easy to find the right color in your purse.
I picked up 3 shades – Hitch Hike, Rapture and Manic (top to bottom in the picture below). It wasn’t easy to choose the shades from the humungous collection but the most difficult part was to buy only a few! I will be picking up more shades soon…very soon!
Two of these shades, Rapture and Manic have a Cream finish. I found the formula for both to have a creamy consistency that glides on smoothly without any dragging or skipping and is also nicely hydrating. The pigmentation is fantastic too! Both of these shades have a rich, nearly opaque color payoff in a single swipe. As for the longevity, these lipsticks last for about 3-4 hours on me (without much drinking or eating).
The shade Manic is described as a ‘soft wine cream’. It’s a medium wine red with warm undertones and a slightly glossy finish. It’s a beautiful red that’s not too dark and will definitley be one of my go-to shades this fall/winter. The shade Rapture is described as a ‘dusty rose’. I thought this color wouldn’t look flattering on me when I opened the tube for the first time but it actually looks quite pretty once on the lips!
The third shade Hitch Hike has a Comfort Matte finish. The formula for this one is also creamy and applies very smoothly with rich opaque color in just one swipe. Although not particularly hydrating, this lipstick wears pretty comfortably without leaving my lips feeling or looking dry….it really lives up to its smooth ‘comfort matte’ finish claim! And that’s a big plus for someone like me who typically avoids matte lipsticks as they are usually uncomfortable dry. The formula is not incredibly long-wearing but the staying power is still pretty impressive at about 5-6 hours.
The shade Hitch Hike is described as a ‘brick rose’. It’s a medium rosy plum with slightly warm undertones that I fell in love with right from the first swipe! This shade is my favorite of the three…it’s the only matte lipstick in my stash I find myself reaching for again and again!
Here are the swatches of all 3 shades : Manic, Rapture and HitchHike.

I’m confused. The swatches look so different from what I was expecting from the product shots… or is that just me?

Kissandmakeup I try to capture the swatches as accurately as possible but sometimes the lighting can make them look a bit different! That said, the color swatches here are not drastically different from how they look on my lips…
