Rimmel Lasting Finish 25HR Breathable Foundation is a new liquid foundation with an ultra-lightweight formula that also promises to be super long-lasting.
Available in 16 shades, this new Rimmel foundation offers medium coverage with breathable skin technology that doesn’t clog pores, plus SPF 20 to boot.
The new Rimmel Lasting Finish 25HR Breathable Foundation seems to be a new, lighter (more breathable) version of Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation (with red cap). I haven’t tried the original formula so can’t compare the two but this new foundation ticks almost all the right boxes for me…keep reading to get the full scoop!

The new Rimmel Lasting Finish 25HR Breathable Foundation comes in a glass bottle with a sponge applicator attached to the cap. I really like how easy it is to apply the foundation with the sponge applicator!
Just dab it on your face and quickly blend with your fingers or foundation brush. Also, the sponge applicator makes it convenient to add a little more foundation to my problem areas for more coverage!
As for the formula, this foundation is really lightweight as Rimmel claims. It has a silky fluid texture that’s easy to aply and blend, providing great medium coverage. It sets to a smooth, satin finish that’s not too dewy, nor too matte and looks natural.
The new Rimmel Lasting Finish Breathable Foundation also claims to be moisturizing. With my dry skin, I didn’t find the formula hydrating but it doesn’t cling to the drier areas on my face and gives me a nice, smooth finish.
PS: I always make sure to use a hydrating primer before applying any foundation, and highly recommend not to skip the primer step if you want a super smooth finish.
As I said, this foundation has medium coverage which works well for me. It’s not pigmented enough to cover my dark spots but takes care of any redness, discoloration and minor imperfections, evening out my skin tone beautifully.
When it comes to wear time, this foundation stays put without fading or creasing almost all day…I wore it for about 8-9 hours and the coverage was still there with only minor fading. Although Rimmel claims it can go the distance at 25 hours of wear, who needs their makeup to last that long anyways? Not to mention, sleeping in makeup is a big no-no!
Another thing worth a mention is that this foundation has a perfume-y scent. I don’t find it too strong and it doesn’t linger around for long thankfully but for anyone sensitive to fragrance in their makeup, it might be a bit too much.
The shades I tried are 203 True Beige and 300 Sand. I found 203 to be a great (although not perfect) match for my light-medium skintone. Here are the swatches:
Overall, Rimmel Lasting Finish Breathable Foundation gets a thumbs up from my side. For under $10, this is a really nice drugstore foundation that provides great coverage with a lightweight feel and natural finish. And it’s fairly long-lasting as well. Well worth trying for anyone who prefers medium coverage with a truly lightweight feel!
Available now at Amazon.com and Target for $6.99
I also tried out the new Rimmel Lasting Finish Breathable Concealer in the shade 300 Medium.
Just like the foundation, this concealer has a very lightweight smoothing texture and offers good medium coverage. It comes with a built-in cushion applicator through which the product squirts out. The formula is fragrance-free.
I find this product great as a spot concealer for blemishes or acne scars, but don’t like it much for my under eye area to cover dark circles. Even though it does a fairly good job of concealing dark circles, I just prefer something a bit more creamy and moisturizing for my under eye area. It doesn’t crease or feel heavy and lasts quite long, so overall I’d say it’s a pretty good option!
Rimmel Lasting Finish Breathable Concealer is available at Amazon.com and Target for $4.99
