Highlighted Ingredients:
Kombucha Filtrate: Fermented black tea rich in antioxidants to brighten and detoxify, increasing skin’s luminosity
Marula Oil: hydrates, protects and seals in moisture
Healthy glow with hydration? Sign me up! Thanks to my dry skin, I am all about moisturizing makeup with a side of glow! But I also want it to be lightweight and long-lasting with good coverage. So, I figured the new Urban Decay Hydromaniac Tinted Glow Hydrator is going to be right up my alley and it turns out, I was right!
Urban Decay Hydromaniac Tinted Glow Hydrator feels like a tinted moisturizer but with buildable, medium coverage just enough to look like my real skin. I love how I can apply it easily with my fingers, which is often how I prefer using a lightweight foundation. I chose the shade 40 (light medium warm) which turned out to be a really good match for me.
It goes on smoothly and just melts into my skin with a hydrating (but not at all heavy) feel which I love! Not only does it feel very comfortable but also gives my skin a dewy-fresh finish that looks natural. The finish is not over-the-top glowy but radiant enough to add a soft luminosity to my complexion. Absolute perfection!
In terms of coverage, Urban Decay Hydromaniac Tinted Glow Hydrator provides natural-looking medium coverage that evens out my skin tone beautifully and softens the appearance of my dark spots. Plus, it also provides a slight blurring effect on my pores. So it looks like my skin, but much better!
And if I want a little more coverage for my problem areas, I can easily layer it on without looking cakey. The formula is quite pigmented and a little goes a long way.
As for the wear time, it’s not super long-lasting but great. With a primer underneath, I get a solid 9-10 hours before it starts to breakdown and look a bit worn out. I also tried it without a primer, and got a fairly good wear time.
Urban Decay says it wears for up to 24 hours, but then why would you want to have your foundation on for that long? I just tend to ignore these 24 hour claims! Here are the swatches of all the shades from Urban Decay:
Bottom line
Urban Decay Hydromaniac Tinted Glow Hydrator ticks all the right boxes for me in terms of texture, finish, coverage and longevity. It gives me a real-skin finish with a hydrating, healthy glow that lasts!
I can wear it all year-round, for casual everyday look or a night out (you know, when we finally start going out again!) It’s a luxe foundation, without the luxe price tag!
This a great hydrating, dewy foundation for dry skin. The only drawback is that it comes in only 12 shades…I really wish Urban Decay expands the shade range as it’s a fabulous formula! But for now, if you can find a shade that works for you, it’s sure to please!
Urban Decay Hydromaniac Tinted Glow Hydrator is available at Sephora, Ulta Beauty and urbandecay.com for $29.
