If you have been reading this blog for a while, you’ve probably seen Solara Suncare mineral sunscreens featured in a few of my favorite sunscreens roundup. So I was pretty excited when I found that the brand has released two new mineral sunscreens with anti-aging benefits, and of course I had to try them out!
Both of these new sunscreens not only provide broad-spectrum SPF protection from harmful UVA and UVB rays but are also loaded with potent anti-aging actives to nourish your skin for a healthy, glowing complexion. So, let’s get to the details!
Solara Suncare Fortune Teller Brightening Sunscreen Serum SPF 30 ($64)
This is a 100% mineral sunscreen formulated with 22.4% Zinc Oxide (non-nano) The formula infuses a serum level cocktail of skin-changing actives like two forms of Vitamin C, Moroccan Argan oil and small molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid.

SuperBright Complex™
Vitamin C rich Amla and oil soluble, deeper penetrating THD-C (Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate) blends with adaptogenic Licorice Root and antioxidant rich fruit extracts to help even skin tone with daily use and protect against inflammatory environmental elements like UV, blue light and pollution that can cause signs of premature aging.
Moroccan Argan Oil + Hyaluronic Acid
Moroccan Argan Oil and small molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid both attract moisture to the skin and lock it in for lasting hydration, while helping to nurture and support the skin’s defense barrier.
Texture + Finish: Silky + Dewy
Texture-wise, this sunscreen has a silky lightweight formula that absorbs easily and quickly without leaving a white cast (which is quite impressive considering the high concentration of zinc oxide in it!) on my light-medium skin tone.
I have dry skin so I love the dewy finish of this sunscreen! It adds a healthy glow to my skin without making it look greasy or shiny. That said, if you have combination to oily skin and prefer a matte finish, this sunscreen might not be the perfect match for you.
The fragrance-free formula also feels hydrating without any heaviness. Oily skin types may
want to skip using a moisturizer with this one. And it wears well under makeup without any pilling issues! Just wait for the sunscreen to fully set (shouldn’t be more than a minute) before applying makeup.
Not to mention, the formula has skin-brightening benefits with consistent use and prevents hyperpigmentation. This was my go-to facial sunscreen on my recent vacation to Hawaii and I loved how it kept my skin hydrated + protected from UV rays without any white cast or stickiness!
Solara Suncare Guardian Angel Super Peptide Sunscreen Milk SPF 50 ($56)
Pillowy and protective, this oil-free 100% mineral sunscreen (12% zinc oxide) milk is loaded with 12 actives including: collagen building Super Proteins (a 5 amino acid pentapeptide), exotic Adaptogenic + Ayurvedic Superfruits with powerful antioxidant benefits, and the defense barrier support of CoQ10 and Niacinamide.

Superfruit Blend

Texture + Finish: Milky + Satin
This sunscreen has a lightweight milky texture that spreads easily and melts into skin quickly leaving a satin finish with minimal shine. It does take a few extra seconds to fully blend out but there is no white cast left behind.
While I can’t speak to how it’ll wear on darker skin tones, if you have light-to-medium skin tone like mine, you won’t have to worry about any sort of white cast at all.
I love that this sunscreen doubles as a moisturizer and hydrates well without feeling thick or heavy (at least on my dry skin). Those with very dry skin types may still need a moisturizer underneath. This one also layers nicely under makeup and doesn’t pill. And it’s also fragrance-free!

Both these sunscreens have gentle, sensitive-skin friendly formulas free of any fragrance and essential oils and contain no silicones, PEGs, drying alcohols or common SPF skin irritants.
I am loving both these sunscreens except their price tag! They are definitely on the expensive side, but if you have the extra $$ to splurge, these are a worthy SPF investment with brightening and anti-aging skincare benefits to boot. Available at solarasuncare.com
