Anastasia Want You To Want Me Eyeshadow Palette Review and Swatches

Here comes another gem from Anastasia Beverly Hills Holiday 2012 collection – the Want You to Want Me Eye Shadow palette! Styled like a clutch, this new limited edition eye makeup kit includes a removable mirrored palette with nine eye shadows, a jet black liquid eyeliner, mini clear brow gel and a small dual-ended brush.

First off, I just love the lush velvet clutch-style packaging with magnetic closure….so elegant! The eyeshadow palette itself can be easily taken out from the kit’s velvet case and has a little mirror of its own for easy touch-ups anytime. You can see the names of the shadows printed on the larger velvet case when you remove the eyeshadow palette.

The eyeshadows are all velvety smooth and richly pigmented. You can wear these dry for a sheer wash of color or apply wet to transform shadow into liner or for a bold metallic finish. The palette has a nice mix of neutral browns, taupe and plum-purple shades to create a range of looks from neutral to dramatic to smokey. Out of the 9, there are only 2 matte shades – Platform Wedge and Members Only. The rest all are shimmery (that I like!) with a soft, satin finish and minimal fallout. The color payoff is great and I haven’t even tried using them wet. As for the longevity, these shadows give you an all-day wear when used over a primer. I didn’t see any creasing or fading even after 11-12 hours of wear, which is fantastic!

The liquid eyeliner is a matte black color. I used to be a liquid eyeliner fan at one time but now it’s been a couple of years that I’ve used one. So, even though a bit out of practice, I was able to get a nice, thin line with this liquid eyeliner. It isn’t the waterproof type but stays put without migrating around. The clear brow gel is also pretty good and keeps my brows in place. It’s the perfect size to keep in your purse.

Bottom line – Anastasia Want You To Want Me eyeshadow palette is a fabulous kit for the holiday season, whether to indulge your self or a loved one! At just $34, it’s a great value set (travel-friendly too!) with nicely coordinated shades and some useful extras like the liquid liner and brow gel for the perfect eye makeup look.
