SheaMoisture’s natural haircare and skincare/body care products but recently found out that they have introduced a cosmetics line as well! Free of parabens, talc, gluten, synthetic fragrances, sulfates and phthalates, SheaMoisture’s skin-friendly makeup range includes everything from foundations, lipsticks, eyeliner and mascara to eyeshadow palettes…exciting, right? I have been a long time fan of Here are a few of the SheaMoisture makeup products I tried…
First off, there’s SheaMoisture Shea Butter Luscious Lipstick ($9.99) that is formulated with nourishing shea butter and emollients for rich, luxurious color. These creamy lipsticks are really moisturizing and offer great coverage with a lovely satin finish. The formula truly delivers in the pigment and texture department while being comfortably long-wearing. The color lasts quite well without leaving my lips feeling dried out! For under $10, this is a fabulously budget friendly lipstick that’s a pure pleasure to wear!
SheaMoisture Shea Butter Luscious Lipstick is available in 10 shades. The shades I tried are Tea Rose, Nectar, Coral, Maple and Pink Tulip. Here are the swatches:
Next is the SheaMoisture Weightless Shea Serum Foundation ($5) which is described as a light, silky, fluid formula that blends easily to provide light to medium coverage with a natural finish that feels comfortable and virtually undetectable. Formulated with natural ingredients and blended with moisturizing Shea Butter and antioxidant-rich Vitamins C & E to brighten and protect the skin.
This is such a great foundation for those of us with normal to dry/combination skin types. The formula has a lightweight fluid consistency and is pretty easy to work with. It blends easily and evens out my skin beautifully while providing great coverage for most of the imperfections like dark spots, blemishes and acne scars with a natural finish. I just need 2-3 drops of this foundation for a full face…a little goes a long way!
I really like the satiny semi-matte finish that looks natural and doesn’t leave me oily by lunchtime. Although not weightless, this foundation feels comfortably light on my skin and stays put practically all day even when I am out & about in the summer heat. The shade range is great from light to very deep (about 20 shades) making it easy for dark-skinned ladies to find a suitable shade for their skin tones.
SheaMoisture Ultra Smooth Long Wear Eye Pencil ($7.99) – These eyeliners have a creamy texture that just glides on effortlessly. No tugging and pulling at all! The formula is highly pigmented with a rich color payoff but where this product really shines is in its ability to live up to its claims of truly long-wearing. It’s waterproof & smudge-proof and once set, the color lasts all day without any fading, migration or smudging. These pack staying power for sure! Even better? They have a pretty decent waterline wear as well at around five to six hours. I tried the shades Teal and Turquoise and love both for adding a pop of color to your eyes! Here are the swatches:
Overall, color me impressed with SheaMoisture Cosmetics! I highly recommend trying out this new shea butter infused makeup line that offers great quality while being easy on your wallet. All of these SheaMoisture makeup products can be easily found at Target and ULTA.
