I heard about Palladio herbal lip liners recently from a friend who swears by this stuff and decided to try these out. Although I have a whole bunch of lipsticks, I am not too keen on getting matching lip liners to go with every shade of lipstick. I usually go with neutral toned lip liners that work well with a variety of lippies and create fine soft outlines.
Product Description (from Palladio’s website)
Slim and easy-to-apply, these crayon-like lip pencils require no sharpening. Simply twist when the product dulls and return it to its original state. Our unique water-proof formula ensures no-run, all-day wear.
My Review : I picked up two shades – “Naked’ and ‘Nearly Nude’ and both of these are quite versatile. Nearly nude is a close match to the natural color of my lips and looks great with most of my pink lipsticks or lipglosses. These lip liners have a creamy texture and the soft tip glides on smoothly and evenly.
The colors look really natural on my lips and do not give me that sharply defined look. In fact, I fill in my lips after I have outlined them which seems to help my lipstick color last longer than usual. They do not feel drying even when used as a lip color alone but I like to use a lip gloss/lip balm on top to add some shine. The waterproof formula stays put and the tint lasts for hours. These retractable lip liners are easy to use and you do not have to worry about sharpening. There is no scent or taste which totally works for me. Here are the swatches :
I am really pleased with these lip liners because they are creamy, easy to blend and serve as a great base for lipsticks or liglosses and for $4.50 a piece, they are a steal!
Available at Sally Beauty Supply stores and Ulta. Palladio also has retractable waterproof herbal eye liners which are said to be great for waterline……will try them out sometime soon!
