If you’re a regular shopper at Whole Foods or any major health food store, you might have seen Reviva Labs products in the beauty and skincare aisle. Reviva labs has been producing all-natural skin care products since 1973 which are sold in professional skin care salons and health food stores worldwide. They never test their products on animals and all their products are paraben free. I recently had a chance to try out a couple of Reviva Labs products and today I am reviewing their Makeup Primer.
Product description from Reviva’s website: Apply over moisturizer or instead of moisturizer. Lines fill in, pores are concealed, excess oil is controlled. Skin so touchable, so silky smooth, you will find it hard to believe.
Ingredients: Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone, Vitamin A Palmitate, Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol), Olive Oil, Coenzyme Q10, Squalane.
Reviva Labs makeup primer is a clear, silicone-based primer with a lightweight, gel-like consistency. My dry skin loves that it is not super mattifying like most of the primers and feels more like a serum. It just slips on my skin and absorbs instantly to make my skin feel satiny smooth and also softens the look of my pores. My makeup looks flawless over this primer and stays put all day. It helps to keep my complexion looking fresh and even my blush seems to last much longer. I have been using this primer on my eyelids too and it makes my eyeshadows look brighter and stay on well without fading or creasing. There is no fragrance at all in this product which is great for sensitive skin gals. I really like that this primer comes in a glass container with a pump dispenser which is not only convenient to use but also keeps your product sanitary maintaining the efficacy of ingredients. I just need one small pump for my face each time so a little goes a long way.
One thing that really stands out for this makeup primer is that the formula also includes skin-benefiting ingredients like Coenzyme Q10 (antioxidant), olive oil, Vit A and Vit D3. So, it preps your skin for makeup application and nourishes it too… now that’s always a plus for skin-care fanatics like me!
To sum it up, I am pretty impressed with the Reviva labs makeup primer as it feels comfortable on my skin and effectively helps my makeup last through the day. The inclusion of good skincare ingredients is an added bonus! This primer is a total winner for me and well worth the price ($19.50).
