In case your hair is falling out, you should know that there are numerous different causes that could make this happen, such as childbirth, stress, surgery and the hormonal changes that follow them. You could also be thinking about pollution, illness or vitamin deficiencies.
As people age, they require more health care, and this is also true for their hair. Make sure that you have a healthy diet and it might be useful to include some supplements in your diet as well.
Requirements
One of the problem sources could be a deficiency of iron, folic acid or vitamin B. Another culprit could be the lack of proteins in your body. You can fulfill your protein requirement by consuming whey, dairy products or lean meat.
Panthotenic acid, that it also known as calcium panthotenate and vitamin B5, has been proved to prevent hair loss. You can get this vitamin from potatoes, wholegrain foods, vegetables, egg yolks and whole milk. Vitamin B5 is very important when it comes to the pigmentation of hair and so it can help you preserve the color of your hair for a longer period of time.
Biotin
This is actually a type of vitamin B that is very important for the health and growth of hair. It is also useful for the metabolism of fats, carbohydrates and proteins and so it helps the body produce more energy. You can get biotin from consuming carrots, mushrooms, sardines, cauliflower, bananas, egg yolks and yeast. Biotin is also known as vitamin H. It is said to prevent hair loss and just like vitamin B5 it can preserve the color of hair for a long time.
Vitamin B12
According to the studies that have been conducted in this matter, vitamin B12 may have an important role to play when it comes to hair loss in case of women. In order to find out whether you have a deficiency of vitamin B12 all you need is to have a blood test.
Omega 3 fatty acids
Both men and women have been found to have too little fatty acids in their diet. You can find this in cold water fish as well as in flax seed. It is very important for the health of your skin and hair. Specialists who have been studying the phenomenon of hair loss say that in case a woman loses her hair suddenly, there might be an underlying omega 3 fatty acid deficiency.
Vitamin D
When people hear about a deficiency of vitamin D they instantly think about problems related to the bone structure. It is true that in case you have a deficiency of vitamin D, it is more difficult for calcium to absorb into your bones. Nonetheless it has also been associated with hair loss. It is said that this vitamin D is able to influence the cycles of the hair follicle and so it can change the tendency of the body to grow or shed hair.

Great information Harshleen, it true that B vitamins work together to perform a number of functions vital for cell production that is essential for renewing the skin, hair and nails. I also recently read that Vitamin D deficiency in the US has increased steadily over the past 2 decades and dermatologist are actually changing their recommendations to include 15-30 minutes sunlight exposure, several times a week to help combat vitamin D deficiency.
