Almay Intense i-color Shadow Stick for Hazel Eyes

Almay Intense i-Color Shadow Sticks are cream eyeshadow duos in a retractable stick form. These shadow sticks are available in four shades according to eye colors – for blue, green, hazel and brown eyes. I tried the one for hazel eyes….. let’s see how it worked out for me.

Almay Intense i-Color Shadow Stick in 030 For hazel Eyes comes with a shimmery taupe-brown shade on one end and a light pink with a bit of shimmer on the other. Despite being a cream formula, the eyeshadows have a dry consistency and feel kind of stiff than your typical cream shadows when used for the first couple of times. It gets better after a few swipes as the shadow stick glides on smoothly without any tugging at the skin and also blend pretty easily with fingertips.

 

The pigmentation is just Ok. For both the shades, I need to build up the colors for more intensity as they are not rich or vibrant , the pink one is especially way too sheer. That said, both of these are nice, everyday shades and very work-appropriate. Out of the two, I like the shimmery brown much better that you can use either on the crease or sweep all-over the lid for an easy, casual look.

 

Now let’s talk about the staying power claim of these shadow sticks – “won’t crease, fade or smudge all day long.” That’s actually right!! These really live up to the crease-proof claim. I have slightly oily eyelids so I don’t usually skip the e/s primer but since I wanted to test this product out, I did not apply anything before using it. Even without a primer, I get about 7- 8 hours of wear time without any creasing or fading and if paired with a primer, there is absolutely no creasing or fading until I remove the eyeshadows.

Final Verdict : I think Almay Intense i-Color Shadow Stick is a nice product to have for simple and quick everyday looks when you just need a light wash of color on your eyes. You get two expertly coordinated eyeshadow colors in a dual-ended eyeshadow stick that’s easy to throw it in your purse and there’s no sharpening required (always a plus for me!). Although the color payoff leaves a lot to be desired, the staying power is sure impressive. The formula stays put all day and can even be used as a base for powder shadows to keep them vibrant and crease-proof.
