Before I start off with the review, let me first tell you that I don’t wear mascara very often. I do like to pretty-up my lashes sometimes for special occasions but more often than not, my mascara tube is just there collecting dust on the vanity table. So, when the new Lash Genius Waterproof Topcoat from Anastasia landed on my desk for review, I had one of my good friends (who wears mascara almost daily) try this out to give it a thorough test-run.

Here’s what my friend thinks :

This clear topcoat applies easily on your lashes just like a mascara. It doesn’t have any effect on the feel or look of your existing mascara but only on its performance i.e. making it waterproof and stay in place all day without any flaking, smudging or clumping. The trick is to apply soon after your mascara has dried – it dries quickly and doesn’t make your lashes feel crunchy. One coat is all you need and your mascara won’t budge even when you hit the gym after-work!

 

So, what makes using this topcoat better than a waterproof mascara itself? It’s pretty easy to remove unlike a waterproof mascara that usually takes some serious effort (involving tugging/pulling) to wash off and feels more like a hassle at the end of the day. Just use your regular waterproof eye makeup remover and it’s done without any lashes shedding……big plus!

Bottom Line If you love a mascara that isn’t waterproof, Lash Genius will waterproof it. This clear top coat seals your favorite mascara for the day until you are ready to take it off. It would also be a great choice for those who find their waterproof mascaras bothersome to remove.
