This Sugar Kisses mini lip duo is the 2012 Sephora Beauty Insider birthday gift that I picked up last weekend. Somehow I missed my yearly b’day present from Sephora last year so it’s actually my first BI gift and let me just say, I am really loving it!
Here is a brief description and ingredients list from Sephora website :
Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 blends reparative oils and waxes with real sugar, a natural humectant, for delectable and dependable moisture. Sweet and tart black currant oil, rich in plumping essential fatty acids, cushions the lips while antioxidant grapeseed polyphenols and vitamins A, C, and E provide protection from wrinkle-causing free radicals. It also provides essential, year-round protection from damaging UV rays.
Formulated without petroleum, mineral oil, lanolin and parabens.
Ingredients : Beeswax (Cera Alba), Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Hydrogenated Decyl Olive Esters,Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Fragrance (Parfum), Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Germ Oil, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Sucrose Tetrastearate Triacetate, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Ribes Nigrum (Black Currant) Seed Oil, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Retinyl Palmitate, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, Propylene Glycol, Propyl Gallate, Citric Acid, Limonene, Citral, Benzyl Benzoate, Linalool, Benzyl Alcohol, Geraniol, Bht.
The duo includes a mini Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15 and a mini Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15. These minis are 0.08 oz each versus the the full-sized product that’s 0.15 oz (and retails for $22.50) so you actually get a bit more product than one regular sized tube which is quite nice! I hadn’t ever splurged on these Sugar lip treatments before so I was pretty excited to get this set and now I know why these are one of the most popular lip balms out there! They really do have a luxurious, super moisturizing formula that’s not waxy or sticky at all and keeps my lips smooth & hydrated for quite some time. I really like the sugary citrus flavor too!
Sugar is colorless and just gives a hint of shine while the Sugar Rose has a sheer, rosy tint that gives my lips a pretty pop of color when I need it. Another bonus is the SPF 15. Not very high, but at least there’s some sun protection in there. These lippies are addictive for sure…..I know I’ll be buying the full size Sugar when they are gone!
