Exuviance OptiLight Tone Corrector comes packaged in a squeeze tube with a pump that works well to dispense the amount of product required. The directions suggest to apply this high strength formula to discolored skin once daily for two weeks and twice daily thereafter. I admit I have been using it only once at night mainly because it has retinol that makes skin more sensitive to the sun so I try to avoid any retinol formulas during daytime.
I just use the product as a spot treatment appying it only to the dark spots on my face. The formula has a super lightweight lotion consistency and absorbs quickly without leaving any greasy residue. After it dries up, I use one of my night-time moisturizers on the whole face. It’s worth noting that I did not experience any peeling or flaky skin and that’s probably because I made sure to follow up with a moisturizer every time. And of course, as always, I have been diligent about wearing a broad-spectrum sunscreen everyday which is essential to prevent darkening from reocurring.
The Results? I began using this product about 3 months ago and have applied it almost every night since then. And I am happy to report that the product has faded away the two most noticeable brown spots on my right cheekbone by about 70-80%. I started seeing a difference after about 3-4 weeks of use. I believe I might have gotten faster results if I used the lotion twice daily but I am still satisfied with the improvement in the dark spots even though it was a little slow. (I’m sorry I don’t have the before and after pictures to show you guys) Since I have been using the product only as a spot treatment, there is still a lot left in the tube and I plan to continue using it.
I am so glad I bought Exuviance OptiLight Tone Corrector ! The product is a little expensive ($62) but really worth it if you want an effective, hydroquinone-free dark spot treatment that’s also gentle on the skin. The formula is suitable for all skin types. Highly recommended!
