Prestige has added a new collection of 10 long-wearing eyeshadows to its Total Intensity line of cosmetics. The Total Intensity eyeshadow collection is being touted as ‘long-lasting, highly-pigmented powders that use duochrome pigment, an advanced color technology that creates a unique multi-dimensional look ranging from multi-color to bold. It’s smudge and crease proof and can be used wet or dry to intensify the color.’
First off, I like the packaging! The eyeshadows come in a sleek, square black compact with a clear window on the lid. Not only do the little compacts look nice but they are also sturdy and click shut securely so it won’t be a problem carrying these around in your makeup bag or purse.
I tried out three shades from the collection – Hocus Pocus, Bewitched and Spellbound
Hocus Pocus is an intense brown/blue/green duochrome shimmer
Bewitched is a taupe brown with a subtle silver sheen
Spellbound is a soft pink with golden metallic sheen
I have nothing but good things to say about the Total Intensity eyeshadows! They have a super soft blendable texture with a great color payoff. You can apply them either dry or wet for a more intense colour payoff, however I’ve only been using them dry as they are already quite pigmented as is. What impressed me the most about the formula is the staying power that’s excellent even WITHOUT a primer! There’s just a bit of fading by the end of the day but no creasing or smudging at all. I have to tell you that most eyeshadows crease on me without a primer underneath but this one stays put! As with any eyeshadow, the color payoff on these seems to be a bit more vibrant with a primer but overall the formula is fantastic!
I’m particularly fond of Spellbound and Hocus Pocus, they are gorgeous and I love the duochrome effect. Bewitched is also pretty, an everyday all-over the lid shade that looks great with Hocus Pocus in the crease. Here are the swatches :
