Taya is a natural and rejuvenating selection of haircare products created from natural botanicals and organic ingredients grown through environmentally sustainable programs. All Taya products are formulated free of sulfates, parabens, animal products, and animal testing. I have been trying out the Taya Beauty Buriti Nut Intensive Repair Haircare Collection that is especially designed for dry, damaged, lifeless, color or chemically-treated hair.

Buriti Nut derives from a palm tree which the indigenous people regard as the “tree of life”, as every part of the tree can be used.

Buriti Nut Oil is a super-rich source of unsaturated fatty acids, beta carotene and pro-vitamin A, which prevent signs of skin aging by generating a natural shield for the skin and decreases water loss caused by exposure to the sun and other harmful environmental elements. The plant’s yellow-reddish oil is extracted from the plant’s pulp, and is highly effective in the regeneration and repair of the hair shaft, and the improvement of its tensile strength. Superb for dry, damaged, dull, color or chemically treated hair.

Brazil Nut Oil improves the elasticity of the hair shaft, conditions lifeless hair, and repairs split-ends, while extracts of Raw Parsley restore, calm, soften, and silken the hair shaft.

Let’s start with the Taya Buriti Nut Intensive Repair Shampoo (($20 for 10 fl oz) and Conditioner ($20 for 10 fl oz). Both of these are formulated with Buriti Nut Oil, Brazil Nut Oil and extracts of Raw Parsley to help restore the healthy appearance of dry, damaged, distressed and weakened hair. The shampoo has a sulfate-free, hydrating formula but doesn’t foam much. As with most SLS free shampoos, the trick is to wet your hair thoroughly first and then apply the shampoo spreading it all over your hair and scalp. Add a little more shampoo and water as needed and massage it in. This shampoo leaves my hair clean, soft and healthy. The conditioner is quite good too. It’s creamy but not overly thick, spreads and soaks up easily leaving my hair soft and bouncy after rinsing.

Taya Buriti Nut Intensive Repair Oil Hair Treatment ($32 for 2 fl oz) – This is a highly concentrated serum designed to polish, protect, smooth and add brilliant shine to all hair types. It’s my favorite product out of the whole bunch! It has a non-greasy formula that repels humidity, conditions, smoothes fly-aways and re-hydrates dry, damaged locks without adding weight, residue or build-up. Great for finishing and maintaining your style!

Taya Buriti Nut Intensive Repair Dry Oil Treatment Spray ($32 for 4 fl oz) – It offers the same benefits as the Intensive Repair Oil Hair Treatment formula above but in a lightweight, easy to use, dry oil spray form.

Taya Buriti Nut Intensive Repair Mask ( $32 for 8 fl oz) – This is a super-nourishing, deep treating mask formulated with Buriti Nut Oil, Brazil Nut Oil and extracts of Raw Parsley to help restore strength, elasticity, softness and silkiness to dry, damaged, frizzy, lifeless, over-processed, color or chemically-treated hair. I love this one too! It has done a really good job of infusing moisture back to my sun-ravaged strands!

Taya Buriti Nut Intensive Repair Leave-In Mist ($22 for 6 fl oz) – A reconstructive, light-weight leave-in mist formulated to help hydrate and restore strength, softness and silkiness to all hair types. The formula is really lightweight and works well on wet (before blow drying) or dry hair. It’s great for spraying on dry hair for instant smooting and frizz control without any greasy or sticky feel.
