2014 is on the horizon and for all beauty mavens the turn of a new year sparks an interest in reflecting about what the year in beauty has served us and what we can expect to come. As we always do at the end of the year, let’s take a look at the best beauty finds of 2013. For today’s post, I asked some of my beauty blogging friends to share their favorite makeup products this year…the real gems! So without further ado, here are the best of the best :
Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer. The fact that it makes foundation water resistant makes it a winner in my book!
– Casey Yee, Beauty 101
The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette powders gives my skin a glow without glitter!
– Leticia Fontaine, Cosmetics Aficionado
Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation is good for oily skin. It’s liquid but dries to a matte powder- finish. It slightly blurs my pores and worn with a primer, I have a good ten-hour wear time.
– Kath, Thefabzilla
TATCHA’s One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil dissolves makeup and oil without leaving skin stripped. I have found my holy grail makeup remover/cleanser!
– Mercedes Epps, Beyond Beauty Lounge
The best serum I have ever used in my life, let alone 2013, is the TATCHA Radiant Deep Brightening Serum. I first tried it in summer 2012 and I keep repurchasing! This one is a keeper!
– Laura Gallaway, My Newest Addiction Beauty Blog
I became a huge fan of the famous Le Metier de Beaute eye Kaleidoscopes. Their finely milled pigments have outstanding staying power and can even be layered to create truly unique shades.
– Anastasia Smith, Glamorable
Cover FX CC Cream. I seriously love this for my skin. It’s my favorite ‘foundation/complexion perfection’ product of the year.
– Phyrra Nyx, Phyrra.net
Eddie Funkhouser Quatro Variable Lash Mascara and Ultra Definition Eye Lining Stylus were great finds for Marcia of Beauty Info Zone in 2013. This new company has a fun attitude and products that are affordable.
– Marcia Friedman, Beauty Info Zone
I found my new favorite bronzer, highlighter and blush all in one this year. The it Cosmetics Live, Love, Laugh Vitality Face Disc is highly pigmented and perfect for on-the-go!
– Noelle of XO, Noelle
Marc Jacobs Beauty debuted in 2013 and rocked Prime Beauty’s World! Love Marc Jacobs Beauty Style Eye-Con No. 7 The Starlet Eyeshadow Palette.
– Cindy, Prime Beauty
I love the Lorac Pro palette! With a row of matte colors and a row of shimmers, it has everything I need all in one place. It’s also super thin which makes it perfect for travel.
– Justina, Justina’s Gems
LA Girl High Definition Pro Concealer is a must have!
– Jennifer, Spiced Beauty Blog
MUA Makeup Academy Undressed palette – it is a great eyeshadow palette, perfect for natural looks or more bolder ones and doesn’t cost a fortune.
– Leelo Rohtmets, Beauty by Miss L
Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips adds a perfect amount of tint, shine, and moisture!
– Sheila Arkee, Painted Ladies
BH Cosmetics 10 Color Professional Blush Palette includes highly pigmented shades for every skin tone.
– Arielle Masterson, Beauty by Arielle
Jordana Fabuliner liquid eyeliner in Black- I finally jumped on the bandwagon this year and tried this, and it truly lives up to the hype (and such a steal!).
– Stephanie Clark, In her Makeup bag
Favorite mascara: Le Volume de Chanel – perfect brush, perfect formula!
– Sheila Gage, Pointless Cafe
Milani launched the Color Statement Lipsticks and Lip Liners earlier this year and they are amazing! And there are more shades coming in 2014!!!
– Judy Lynn Schmidt, BeautyJudy
My favorite product of 2013 is Maybelline Colorsensational Vivids in Infra-red. The Vivids boast remarkably rich pigment and a deliciously smooth formula at a totally affordable drugstore price point. Infra-red was a LE color from spring, so I had to buy myself a backup of this creamy retro red but once those tubes are gone, I’ll still be a devotee of the line’s quality.
– Liesl Gutierrez, Liesl Loves Pretty things
My favorite makeup product would have to be the Lorac Pro Palette. It has been my favorite all year, I pick it up more than any other palette. I’d be lost without it.
– Honey Kahoohanohano, Honeygirl’s World
Maybelline Fit Me Shine Free Foundation Sticks! They changed the whole way I do my makeup!
– Angela Peters, Hairspray and Highheels
My fave for ’13 is UD Anti-aging Primer Potion. I had to give up on the regular UD PP because it was too drying. The AA version is a delight: smooth, hydrating & lets my ES stay true for 10 hrs! Love it

I love seeing recs from other beauty bloggers! I’ve been curious about that BH blush palette…I totally agree on the Maybelline ColorSensational Vivids, too! Also, I clearly need to try Hourglass, there is so much love for it in the beauty community!
