If there’s one beauty buy to have on your vanity in the winter months, it’s a good moisturizer. And now that bitter cold temperatures have arrived, it calls for something a bit more substantial to keep flaky, dry skin at bay. If your first instinct is to slather on heavy creams and lotions (these can clog pores) to soothe your parched skin, think again.
Have you discovered the beauty of face oils yet? Or you think rubbing oil all over your face is a recipe for breakouts? Despite everything we’ve ever been told about oil on our face, pure face oils not only help to lock moisture into the skin but also balance and even skin tone and texture.
Today I am showcasing a face oil that I have been loving lately – Jurlique Skin Balancing Face Oil. It is a luxurious, lightweight moisturizing treatment oil rich in natural plant oils and emollients, to help address visible signs of dryness and uneven skin texture, while protecting against environmental aggressors.
Key Ingredients:
Evening Primrose Oil, Macadamia Seed Oil and Marshmallow intensely hydrate and soften skin, improving its overall condition.
Rose Hip Oil and Safflower Oil work in tandem to soften fine lines & wrinkles and improve skin’s firmness.
Shea Butter, Avocado Oil and Jojoba Oil provide emolliency and give skin a smoother, healthier appearance.
I’m not going to lie. The soothing, beautiful scent of this oil alone is an easy excuse to apply daily. But yes, soft & smooth skin in the dry, cold winter is a must too! I just apply 2-3 drops on clean, slightly damp skin and gently massage onto face and neck. It absorbs quickly and instantly delivers a velvety smooth finish – no icky sticky, greasy leave-behind residue! I love how it helps quench my thirsty skin and nourishes and smooths without clogging pores. In fact, now that it’s the season of dry skin allover, I also like to dab a thin layer of this oil on my dry cuticles, hands, elbows, you name it – only a tiny amount is needed to get the job done!
You can also add in a couple of drops of this lightweight treatment oil to your daytime facial moisturizer when your skin needs an extra boost of moisture (plus, you get an extra dose of antioxidants and good fatty acids!) If have very oily skin and you’re skeptical about putting oil directly onto your face, this is a great option!

I am obsessed with oils right now. Kiehls got me hooked with their elixir, and I can’t get enough oil for my face, hair, and nails and hands.. etc, etc. I mix mine with a little creme sometimes to help it absorb faster and be less runny, but on my face, I like it straight up.
