Revlon Skinlights Face Illuminator is back! Being a huge fan of the original Skinlights, I am really excited about this comeback! Saying this doesn’t happen often, but I was quite upset when Skinlights was discontinued back in 2006. So, it makes me very happy to see this iconic face illuminator back in stores!
Revlon PhotoReady Skinlights is a lightweight, sheer illuminator that instantly brightens and adds radiance to your skin. It contains photochromatic pigments that bend and reflect light allowing for a natural glow. You can wear it alone to highlight and brighten or wear with foundation to banish dullness and even out skin tone. Available in 4 Shades: Bare Light, Pink Light, Peach Light and Bronze Light.
This revamped version comes in a squeeze tube versus the old pump tube. It has a thin, liquidy lotion-like consistency that is super easy to apply and blend effortlessly just with your fingertips. The finish is very sheer and shimmery and only a small amount is needed. Yes, the formula has some fine sparkle but don’t let that scare you away because it definitely won’t leave you sparkling like the Cullen’s from Twilight! The shimmer is not over the top and is just enough to add a nice luminosity and that extra oomph to your skin! And that’s the reason I actually love this new formula more than the original which was quite pigmented and way more shimmery (and thus easy to overdo!)
I just need a little dot for one area like the cheekbones and really like that you can easily add more as needed. As with any illuminator, you can also mix this formula with your foundation for an all over glow. For my dry (and dull) skin, the glow is a bit too subtle that way so I prefer to use this illuminator on its own (on top of my foundation). However, for those with combination to oily skin, it would be best to use it mixed in with your favorite foundation, for that healthy radiance without any extra shine.
Want to know all the ways to use Skinlights? Revlon Global Artistic Director Gucci Westman gives you the scoop on this fan-favorite in the video below :
The two shades that I tried are Pink Light and Peach Light. Both are lovely but I really adore Peach Light. I love how fresh and beautiful my complexion looks when I wear it!
Revlon PhotoReady Skinlights Face Illuminator retails at $12.99 each and is now available at Ulta, Target and Walgreens stores nationwide.
What do you think of the Revlon PhotoReady Skinlights Face Illuminators? Were you a fan of the original Skinlights too?
Thanks for the video – I really didn’t know how to use illuminator… but I have one! When this one is gone, I may have to get that Revlon. I love how it looked. Dewy and youthful is a great look.
I have been on the fence about trying these but I want to see what they look like on the face, or rubbed into the skin. Does the Peach Light show much color? I am worried it would be too much color for my fair skin. I will have to watch that video later, I can’t at work 🙂
I wasn’t wild about the old Skinlights, too much of too much, even for this shimmah loving fool. But I am definitely going to check it out this time, around.
BeautyJudy I don’t think it would be too much even for fair skin. As I mentioned above, the finish is quite sheer. On my fair-medium skin, I don’t get much color from the peach light…..just a subtle glow!
Erika Costello I agree, the original was quite glowy and shimmery but this one is certainly not and doesn’t emphasize shine even on oily/combination skin.
I like that it’s light enough that you can layer comfortably. I’m not into products that don’t let my skin breathe.
I remember these! People loved them!
I never tried the original version but I love highlighting products. I’d like to try one of these!
I haven’t tried these, but I might try out the peach one! Great review
I have never heard of these! Maybe have to look into the peach one.
Beautiful! I can’t decide which shade I love more, so I just might pick up both when I see them 🙂
I’ve heard some good things about these!
I saw these in store and thought they looked really great, but I think $13 for drugstore is a little high. I’ll have to wait for a sale or buy one get one 50%.
I bought one of these the other day – a bit pricey but I can’t wait to try it!
Very pretty.
Gorgeous! I need to go pick these up!!
I am seriously happy about this! 🙂 So pretty!
Love these!!! Bought them all. 🙂
For the amount of product you get vs amount of product you need, this is a great steal!
These are great I’ve always wanted to give them a go!
Both shades look great! I would love to try them!
These sound great! I have to try them!
Glamorable I am sure you will love them too 🙂
LisaMarieHeath Thanks….peach light is my fav too!
AleyaBamdad Yes, this is a very lightweight formula that I think would work well for all skin types.
