Hello, Beauty Tidbits readers! Don’t change the channel, or adjust your screen – you’re in the right place. Harshleen generously let me take over your minds her page for a minute.
I’m Nidia, and I run a little blog called Lit From Within. I love beauty stuff – especially nail art – and I am that 40-ish woman who loves being experimental with makeup…but not too much. Today, I’d like to show you some nail art that may not be the most workplace appropriate, but is definitely a break from the ordinary, and really fun.
My base color is Colors by Llarowe Rico Suave, a lovely teal-gold duochrome polish with a smattering of tiny glitter. The dimpling you see is from my base coat, not Rico Suave. Totally operator error – I didn’t let my base coat dry enough.
Harshleen complimented me recently on an animal nail art I did, which totally went to my head, so when I saw this mani by Eeeek! Nail Polish!, I wanted to try to do my own version. I used Illamasqua DWS to make some circles and a dotting tool to make smaller ones. DWS is one of my fave light greys.
Now, it’s starting to take shape! Add a few small dots and one larger one, and a family of bears is starting to emerge.
A lilac polish, in this case Ulta Duty Free Shopping Spree, and my dotting tool – again, are you seeing a theme here? And my bears have ears.
Whenever I do nail art, I like to use topcoat to make all the layers seem like one layer. It just brings it all together and also makes your nail art last longer.
I liked having lots of bears, but it would also be cute to have just one or two. You can put the bear in any position you want, and given the size of your nail and your dotting tool, you can make the bears themselves any size you want.
Adding a matte topcoat also changes the look! The chrome background gets a little more gold, but less sparkly, and the bears look sharper.
Bottle shot: Colors by Llarowe Rico Suave, Illamasqua DWS, Wet ‘n Wild Black Creme, Ulta Duty Free Shopping Spree, and China Glaze Matte Magic.
I was ‘beary’ happy with this nail art! Could you ‘bear’ to have such cute bears on your nails, or would it be too much…to ‘bear’?

This nail art is exceedingly cute and looks so easy that even I could do it. I might even try it. 😀
