Here comes the February Beauty Box 5! This month, Beauty Box 5 is celebrating their second birthday with February’s box. Happy birthday, Beauty Box 5!
Not familiar with Beauty Box 5? It is a subscription-based, beauty sampling program that delivers a box filled with 5 cosmetic samples to your door every month. It’s one of the least expensive subscription boxes ($12/month recurring, $30/3 months or $99/year) that includes a mix of 5 travel, deluxe and full-sized samples of makeup, hair care, skin care, nail care, and beauty accessories from luxury and drugstore brands.
Now let’s check out the goodies in February’s Beauty Box 5…..
Rockstar Nails nail polish & sprinkles – The February Beauty Box includes a full-size nail polish and nail sprinkles duo from Rockstar Nails. I got a purple nail color with purple beads for the caviar effect. I had never tried a caviar manicure so this was fun but the nail polish itself wasn’t that great. It had a strong paint-like smell and the formula was quite streaky as well. I’d definitely be using the nail sprinkles though, just over a different nail color.
Every Beauty Makeup Remover Pads with Argan Oil Extract (5 pads) – I loved these! They are dry cotton pads that won’t dry out like regular makeup remover wipes. You just need to add some water to the pad and can use both sides to remove your makeup. Free of any alcohol or parabens, they feel really soft on the skin and you don’t even need to rinse afterwards.
Elizabeth Mott It’s So Big Volumizing Mascara (0.33 fl oz): This mascara does add a nice volume and length but not a whole lot. It has a thin, hourglass wand that I like and the formula is also smudge-proof. Overall, a good one!
John Frieda Luxurious Volume Touchably Full Shampoo & Conditioner (2 shampoo & 2 conditioner sample packets) – As longtime readers of BeautyTidbits know, I use only sulfate-free shampoos for my hair so these samples won’t be useful for me. The sample packets also come with coupons for $2 off a full sized John Frieda styling product which I might use.
And as a special birthday bonus, the February box also includes a $10 gift certificate to MyNameNecklace.com. That’s actually a good discount so I might get a necklace for myself or my sister.
Overall, I liked the February Beauty Box 5 but wasn’t really impressed with it, like I was with the previous boxes. My favorite product in this box was the makeup remover pads but there were only 5 of those in the sample packet which was a bit disappointing. The mascara is nice too but I hardly use any mascaras so it won’t be getting much use either. I’m looking forward to see what’s in store for the March beauty box!
What do you think of this box?

I’m not as impressed with this box as with Ipsy, which I feel is a better overall value.

paintedladies09 I haven’t tried Ipsy yet but it seems to be pretty good from all the reviews I have seen!
