For today’s post, I asked some of my beauty blogging friends to share their favorite haircare tips and products. From the best products that save you time to easy hair care tips to pamper your lovely locks, they share some of the greatest tress-transforming tricks in their arsenals!
My tip? The best tip I can give you is that when you are washing your hair be sure you get your hair thorughly wet to start with. That way you’ll need less shampoo and your products will work more efficiently (this is especially helpful if you prefer using sulfate free shampoos or cleansing conditioners to get a good lather!)
After you color your hair, use a deep moisturizing hair mask. Pretty Little Elixir Vegan Hair Mask is made to treat chemically treated and heat styled hair. It adds moisture back without weighing your hair down – Phyrra Nyx, Phyrra.net
Pravana Nevo Intense Therapy Leave-In Treatment is the best detangler I’ve used. Spritz it on wet hair and you can comb out your hair immediately without any knotting or breakage – Krystal Seidel Emery, Polish Galore
For most of the year, John Frieda Frizz-Ease 3-Day Straight Styling Spray along with my Chi flat iron does give me 3 days of no frizz. And when the humid days of July/August hit, I bring out the big guns: Bedhead Tigi Straighten Out along with my huge HAI flat iron with wide plates for my thick, coarse, wavy should-length hair – Allison Cohen, Never Say Die Beauty
I use Arvazallia Moroccan Argan Oil Hair Treatment multiple times a day on the ends of my hair to keep them from getting dried or splitting. I also use Phyrra’s Pretty Little Elixir masque weekly to make my hair extra soft and hydrated – Eugenia Lung, Geniabeme
I do the following once every 6 weeks or so for super deep treatment and anti-frizz. Day one: Use Joico K-Pak Deep Penetrating Reconstructor after washing and leave in for 5 minutes. Follow with normal conditioner. That alone is a really nice treatment which adds Keratin into your hair. But then I add Day 2: Put Darshana Indian Oil in my dry, thick hair and let it stay for at least 4 hours. Then shampoo and condition as usual. Other substitutes for this could be Ojon or pure coconut oil. Basically any sort of deep oil treatment – Carleen Pruess Coulter, Beauty & Fashion Tech
I use three products to turn my wimpy, not-curly-nor-straight hair into gorgeous waves! L’Oreal Cleansing Conditioner, Not Your Mother’s Kinky Moves Curl Defining Cream and Bumble And Bumble Does It All Styling Spray– Jessika Barber, Polish Insomniac
Moisture for curly and wavy girls is super important. I deep condition every week with Aubrey’s Organics Honeysuckle Rose Moisturizing Conditioner mixed with Raw Honey to keep my curls moisturized and lush. A steam treatment each week is also a nice way to add moisture to hair that is prone to dryness – Tiki Byrd, Grow it Girl
When blowdrying your hair straight, always use a nozzle on the hairdryer. This helps direct the air flow making your cuticle lay flatter and look smoother – Christina Lauren, Inspirations & Celebrations
Use dry Shampoo to preserve your blowouts, it controls oil and makes your blow out or styling last longer, two of my favorites are Batiste (at drugstores) and Serge Normant – Norah Salazar, Norah Loves Makeup
If you are in the mood for a color makeover, do your research before using a semi- or permanent dye to obtain bright hued hair. It’s far better to use temporary color products than to be stuck with a color you tire of after a few weeks – Kimberly Hannah, The Plastic Diaries
