With summer in full swing, it’s inevitable that we are all spending more time in the sun. From long weekends to weddings to days at the park, summer is filled with travel and adventure. And while you are having fun in the sun, don’t you dare slack on the SPF. You need to be applying Sunscreen from head to toe – and amp up your protection by wearing a hat and sunglasses! Try to avoid direct exposure to sun between peak hours (10-4), or at least limit the amount of time you spend outdoors during these hours.

Now let’s check some of my current favorite sunscreens…

Amarté Ultra Veil Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50+ – It’s no secret that I am obsessed with everything Amarte and this sunscreen is no exception! It contains a a unique blend of physical and chemical sunscreen agents that provide a solid broad spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 50+ protection. It’s super lightweight and blends into the skin with a soft matte, elegant finish. There is absolutely NO white cast or residue to worry about! Not only does the oil-free formula provides a good enough dose of moisture for my normal to dry skin but also plays well with your makeup products including BB cream, liquid foundation, and mineral powders, layering invisibly under makeup.

Jane Iredale Amazing Base Loose Mineral Powder Broad Spectrum SPF 20 – It’s a 3-in-1 loose powder that provides sunscreen, foundation and active skin care benefits all in one! It provides broad spectrum SPF 20 and UVA P++ protection that is water-resistant for up to 40 minutes. If you sweat off your makeup during the day, you also sweat off your sunscreen so this is a great option for on-the-go touchups. It has a smooth, satin matte finish that works for all skin types and never looks dry, heavy or powdery. The coverage is beautiful and completely undetectable! Free of oil, talc, dyes and parabens, it’s great those who suffer from skin conditions such as eczema and rosacea. It’s the perfect way to squeeze in extra SPF without messing with your makeup!

Neova DNA Damage Control Everyday SPF 44 – Truly an SPF delight, this one is my favorite facial sunscreens ever! Not only does it defend against broad spectrum UVA/UVB rays but also delivers oil-free hydration and significant anti-aging benefits with an elegant, lightweight formula that doesn’t leave any white residue.

Noodle & Boo Play-Day Sunscreen SPF-50 ($18) – Fortified with aloe and calendula, this sunscreen has a moisturizing but non-greasy formula that rubs in easily and is also water resistant (up to 40 min). It provides broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection and is free of any harsh chemicals or fragrances – just perfect for sensitive skin types. Not only do I love it for my 5 year old daughter but this has also been my go-to body sunscreen ( I love how it keeps my dry skin smooth and hydrated all day long!)

CeraVe Sunscreen Wet Skin Spray SPF 50 ($16.99) – This fragrance-free, water-resistant (80 minutes) spray-on sunscreen is perfect for a day at the beach or pool when it’s not convenient (or just a pain) to dry off before reapplying your sunscreen. It can be applied to wet skin without the need to towel-dry first, spreads easily and dries with a clear finish. The oil-free, lightweight formula provides water-resistant UVA and UVB protection and also contains ceramides and Hyaluronic acid to ensure skin stays hydrated.

Elemental Herbs All Good Sport Sunscreen SPF 33 – Infused with green tea and rose hip antioxidants and organic jojoba and extra virgin olive moisturizing oils, this is another of my favorite sunscreen for the body. It’s a little thick and creamy but doesn’t feel greasy or heavy/sticky on the skin. Even though it contains 22.5% pure non-nano zinc oxide, you won’t have to worry about a white residue left behind.
