I am a HUGE eyeliner fan! Even if I have only 2 – 5 minutes to get ready and be out the door, an eyeliner is a must-have for me to look polished and put together. Needless to say, I have tried a lot of eyeliners, be it pencil, liquid, kohl, and gel/cream…you name it. I typically use pencil eyeliners simply because they are much easier (and quicker) to apply than liquid or cream gel liners and are a great fool-proof, versatile option that works anywhere on the lashline. Here are some of my current picks:
It Cosmetics No Tug Waterproof Gel Eyeliners – As always, It cosmetics is at the top of my favorites list! This offers the rich pigmentation and creamy glide of a pot gel liner with the convenience and ease of use of a pencil eyeliner. True to its name, the formula doesn’t pull or tug on the delicate eye area and is truly waterproof once set. Also, this is by far the best eyeliner I’ve tried for the waterline! LOVE It!
L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner – What I love about this eyeliner is its creamy smooth application and the conal kajal tip that’s perfect for both thin or thick lines and also for waterline. It offers a solid color payoff that lasts all day without fading off or smudging. However, on my waterline, the color tends to lose vibrancy over the course of the day, but this kajal pencil is still my favorite as it doesn’t give me raccoon eyes like a lot of kohl/kajal eyeliners do.
Cailyn Cosmetics Line Fix Gel Pencil (Charcoal) – This is also a gel eyeliner in a convenient pencil form. Its densely pigmented formula glides on smoothly, imparting rich color that’s waterproof & smudge proof. I love the rich, shimmery dark grey that makes my brown eyes pop!
Tarte Skinny SmolderEYES Amazonian Clay Waterproof liner (Purple Garnet) – One of my all-time favorites, this is a super long-lasting eyeliner, making it perfect for under the lower lashline, an area prone to smudging. This versatile liner delivers rich color for a crisp or smoky look that won’t fade, run, or budge. Purple Garnet is a deep eggplant with slight shimmer…gorgeous!
Sumita Beauty Kala Color Intense Pencil – I got this eyeliner in a Glossybox. The jet black inky-ness of this eyeliner is beautiful, and the creamy soft wax pencil with a fine tip glides on smoothly but won’t smudge or budge once it’s dried. It’s a good fool-proof product for a smokey eye or winged liner looks. Although it’s gentle and safe to be used on the inner rim (like a kajal) without any irritation, I don’t use it much on the waterline as the color tends to smudge around the inner corners of my eyes in a few hours.
Here are the swatches L- R : It Cosmetics No Tug Waterproof Gel Eyeliners in Lucky Jade and Plum, L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner in Brown, Cailyn Cosmetics Line Fix Gel pencil in Charcoal, Tarte Skinny SmolderEYES Amazonian Clay Waterproof liner in Purple Garnet and Sumita Beauty Color Intense Pencil in Black.
So, these are my current favorite eyeliners! Have you tried any of them? Do you have any eyeliners that you can’t live without?
