New for Spring 2015, Menagerie from Paul & Joe Beauté is a sunny, breezy spring collection, inspired by the playfully nostalgic Parisian menageries, which exists somewhere between memory and imagination. Featuring pretty French pastels, this collection with an adorably cute packaging evokes images of animals frolicking in the fresh air of spring! Take a look…

I tried a couple of shades of the new Eye Gloss S ($25) from the Spring 2015 collection with colors inspired by the French Menagerie. Available in 5 playful pastel shades that brighten the face, these eye glosses have a moisturizing serum formula enhanced with pearl powder, white lily extract and orange flower water.
The two shades I have are :
Crème Brûlée (04) – Gold, silver and beige combine for a soft caramelized tone with a pearlescent finish.
Antique Coin (05) – Shimmery peachy pink
Texture wise, these eye glosses have a soft fluffy mousse kinda formula that applies like a gloss but sets like a cream shadow and doesn’t stay wet or sticky on the eyelids. The silky texture of these eye glosses is easy to work with – I just swipe a small amount on my eyelids with the sponge doe-foot applicator, and blend it out with a finger. The formula dries down pretty quickly – in under a minute.
Both the eye glosses have a sheer, glistening pearl finish with a metallic shine. You can build up the color easily but I like to use them with a light hand for a soft wash of color with a glossy finish. These can also be applied on top of your powder eyeshadow for a subtle glossy effect. Antique Coin is sparkly but with very refined shimmer and blends to a lovely pink shimmer wash for a soft radiant look. Crème Brûlée is subtle enough for everyday wear and also works well as a cream highlighter.
As for the longevity, the eye glosses stay put all day without creasing. However, if you have oily eyelids like mine, I would recommend applying over an eyeshadow primer for long-lasting hassle-free wear.
Another thing worth a mention is the lovely fragrance of these eye glosses! Its a light floral scent that’s quite nice, although fragrance in an eye shadow makes no sense.
