New from Kiehl’s, Dermatologist Solutions™ Super Fluid UV Mineral Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50+ is a 100% mineral-based sunscreen with a lightweight, fluid texture. Formulated with sensitive and acne-prone skin in mind, this sheer mineral sunscreen, lightly tinted to enhance the natural skin tone, delivers powerful UVA and UVB broad-spectrum protection from the sun’s harmful rays, without the irritation that chemical sunscreen filters may cause.
Kiehl’s Dermatologist Solutions™ Super Fluid UV Mineral Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50+ utilizes the photostable sun filter Titanium Dioxide, which is a naturally occurring mineral that physically blocks UV rays due to its high refractive index. In the formula, it is combined with the antioxidant power and conditioning benefits of Vitamin E offering additional defense against free radical damage.
If your main complaint about mineral sunscreens is that they make a goopy white mess, feel heavy/greasy or create an oil slick on your face, then this new SPF will change everything for you. The silky, lightweight fluid formula soaks in quickly and blends easily with a velvety matte finish that keeps grease and shine in check. It’s kind of like a cross between a smoothing makeup primer and a sunscreen, that also happens to add a light dose of moisture, while delivering some serious chemical-free sun protection. I think this would work equally well on oily and dry skin; it feels fine on my dry skin.
The thing that I love about this sunscreen is that it’s so ultra-light that I actually forget I’m wearing it! Another plus is that it’s completely fragrance-free.
The formula has a light-brown tint that blends in easily with my light-medium skintone and provides an even, shine-free base perfectly prepped for makeup (unlike many mineral sunscreens, which can be very difficult to apply makeup on over.) Even if you don’t plan to follow with makeup, this sunscreen can be worn alone as it leaves no chalky white cast behind at all.
What’s really cool about this sunscreen is that it’s made specifically for acne-prone sensitive skin types like mine and after using it for about 2 weeks, I can attest that it really doesn’t cause any breakouts…at least not for me! It’s the latest addition to my list of Best Sunscreens For Acne-Prone Skin. Kiehl’s has really nailed it with this new chemical-free formula…it’s a mineral sunscreen that even SPF-haters will want to wear!
Kiehl’s Dermatologist Solutions™ Super Fluid UV Mineral Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50+ is available for purchase at kiehls.com, Nordstrom and neimanmarcus.com for $38.

I have combination skin and this sounds like a good product for me. I hope Canada gets it; we’re behind on getting a lot of products with SPF.
