jane iredale is kicking off 2017 with the unveiling of its new Mystikol® eyeliners which are a part of the winter makeup collection called The Luxe Line, sexy with staying power! Available in four, richly pigmented and water-resistant shades, these perfectly saturated, creamy eyeliners offer the staying power of a liquid liner with the ease and versatility of a pencil.
Product Description
the look rich and deep
the feel smooth and creamy
Create the sexy look you love with new improved Mystikol Powdered Eyeliners! The built-in brush in the cap makes a perfect line or smudged-out smoky eye. The water-resistant powder/cream formula can be used to line your eyes or sweep over lids for a great shadow that won’t fade, crease or smear. Coco glycerides in the formula help it go on smooth across your lids and lash line.
These pretty little liners come in a little jar with a snap-in brush inside the rose gold cap. The packaging is beautiful indeed! But to be honest, when it comes to gel eyeliners that need to be applied with a skinny brush, I am not at all skilled (and patient…and that’s why I am such a big fan of pencil eyeliners.) So, when I first got these new Mystikol eyeliners, my first thought was that they would probably end up collecting dust in my bathroom cabinet. But I was so wrong!
The little brush that comes attached with the liner actually makes application a breeze…at home or on-the-go! It’s so easy to use and draws a precise thin line without any hassle or mess. And the eyeliner formula is completely blendable so you can also smudge the line for a sultry, smoky eye if that’s the look you are going for. Oh, and the gold cap stays on tightly! So you don’t have to worry if tossing this liner in your makeup bag for travelling.
As for the eyeliner formula itself, it’s very smooth, creamy, richly-pigmented and just glides on the lash line! Mystikol eyeliners are available in four shades: Onyx (jet black), Dark Topaz (metallic chocolate brown), Amethyst (royal purple) and Smoky Quartz (smoky charcoal). Here are the swatches:
All the shades have a beautiful, rich color payoff so no complaints in the pigment department either! Just a quick note though – Amethyst is a light to medium purple but when I first saw the color, I thought it would be like the other deep eggplant shades I have in my stash. It’s softer, yet vibrant and easily buildable for more color intensity.
Out of these 4, Smoky Quartz is my top favorite and then next is Dark Topaz that’s perfect for day or night! And yeah, the colors are crease-proof and long wearing as promised and really stay put all day without fading or smearing. The formula is also water-resistant, although not completely waterproof so you might want to skip wearing this eyeliner to a tear-jerker drama!
