Raise your hand if you’ve ever “accidentally” wandered into the beauty aisle at a store while shopping for groceries. Well, I will be the first one to admit that it happens to me a lot…basically all the time!
I picked up the Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Color + Correct Sheer Tan SPF 30 on my weekly Whole Foods run (hey, I don’t ignore the beauty aisles in health food stores!) I’ve been a fan of Andalou Naturals since I tried their Turmeric + C Enlighten Serum, and want to try more products from the brand. So, when I saw this natural CC cream, it looked like the perfect pick!
Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses CC Color + Correct SPF 30 ($19.95 for 2 fl oz) is described as ‘The first CC cream with alpine rose stem cells provides soft, sheer mineral coverage with essential hydration and proven broad spectrum sun protection for a flawless-looking complexion in one easy step.’
It comes in 2 shades – Sheer Nude and Sheer Tan. I got the shade Sheer Tan which turned out to be slightly dark for my light to medium skin tone but not too bad. This CC cream is actually not a new product and seems to have been around for a while but Andalou Naturals recently updated the packaging. I like the new look!

There is a lot to like about Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses CC Cream Sheer Tan SPF 30! First off, the ingredient list includes an impressive lineup of antioxidants, hyaluronic acid, plant oils (like jojoba, rosehip, pomegranate, and sunflower) and most of the ingredients are all-natural. The sole sunscreen active in the product is 20% zinc oxide, which provides gentle and reliable broad-spectrum sun protection. Thanks to its tinted formula, there is absolutely no white cast to be concerned about.
That said, this isn’t exactly a CC cream as the name implies. It’s essentially a sheer tinted moisturizer with sunscreen. Texture wise, the moisturizing formula is creamy and slightly thick but pretty easy to blend and dries down to a smooth satin (but not shiny) finish on my naturally dry skin.
I don’t need an additional moisturizer under this and you shouldn’t either unless your skin is extremely dry. I would not recommend this product to those with oily skin though, because of the emollient formula and slightly dewy finish.
Speaking of coverage, there’s not much really. It is sheer and although it manages to even out my skin tone, I definitely need a concealer if I want to cover any of my imperfections like dark spots or acne scars. That’s not a bad thing, of course, as the package does say “sheer” but it’s better to think of this as a tinted daytime moisturizer with SPF, not as a color correcting cream.
To be honest, I would have definitely loved this product more if it offered a bit more coverage. That said, it’s still something I can see myself using on a daily basis because of its solid sun protection and moisturizing benefits.
The only drawback? This product has a fairly strong rose scent that doesn’t subside until about 15-20 minutes after application. It’s not a deal-breaker for me, but if you are sensitive to fragrance in your skincare, this might be a problem. I don’t see any artificial fragrances listed in the ingredients so the scent appears to be from fragrant flower extracts and rose essential oils.
Bottom Line
If you want a natural, sheer tinted moisturizer with SPF for your normal to dry skin, Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Color+ Correct SPF 30 is a really good option to consider. And you get 2 fl oz for under $20 so it’s certainly good value for money! Plus, it’s natural and cruelty-free. Just don’t expect this to fit the classic idea of a high coverage CC cream!
