Sephora is a magical place where you can find any beauty product you’ve ever wanted (and many you never knew you needed!) If you’re like me, you’ve spent more time lurking in Sephora than you’d like to admit. Somehow you walk into Sephora “just to browse” and $200 later you’re not sure what you really came for.
Yup, that’s how I got my hands on the Surratt Beauty Surreal Real Skin Foundation Wand. I wasn’t actually looking for a new foundation but couldn’t resist the urge to splurge on this portable complexion perfector with a flawless finish!
Surratt Beauty Surreal Real Skin Foundation Wand is described as ‘a skin-perfecting foundation wand that’s a foundation and a brush in one’
Suggested Usage:
Troy Surratt’s tip: Begin by applying at the center of the face, where discoloration most often occurs, and blend into the nose, chin, and forehead, brushing outwardly with short, feathery strokes.
This foundation comes in a portable wand with a built-in angled brush to make the application easy. The foundation is dispensed through the center of the brush when you press on the other end. The foundation brush is soft, plush and gets the job done well, and most importantly makes this foundation travel-friendly!
This foundation is touted to have medium-to-full coverage but I’d say it offers a solid medium yet natural-looking coverage (which is what I prefer most days) that manages to look very skin-like. It has enough pigment to conceal most imperfections without blanketing the skin in makeup. If I want full coverage for a special occasion or something, I do need to use a concealer for a couple of acne scars that are quite prominent, but usually, I just skip that extra step)

The formula so beautifully lightweight that I can hardly feel it on my skin. In fact, its skin like finish is my favorite thing about this foundation! And I LOVE how it adds a soft luminous healthy-skin glow without being shiny or greasy – just perfect to perk up my dull, dry complexion. There’s no shimmer or glitter in the formula.
For best results, I highly recommend moisturizing well beforehand (especially if you have dry skin like me) and prepping your skin with a good primer for a super smooth finish as it will also help the foundation last all day. I can easily get 8-10 hours of wear time with only minor fading by the end of the day.
I got the shade Surreal Skin 10 (described as tan with golden undertones) and it’s a near perfect match for me. You can see swatches of all the 15 shades here. My only little gripe about this foundation is that I will have to be very diligent about cleaning the brush; otherwise, the bristles would gunk up and might not give as seamless an application. But then again, that’s my laziness speaking…rather complaining!
Bottom Line
With an elegantly fluid texture that blends like a dream, gorgeous natural-looking luminous finish and great medium coverage that builds up beautifully, Surratt Beauty Surreal Real Skin Foundation Wand is certainly worth the splurge! Even though it’s not completely full coverage, I love this foundation because it gives the skin a naturally radiant and flawless look.
