Last year, L’Oreal introduced their Pure Clay Masks and they have been a huge hit. Now the brand has expanded the range into Pure Clay Cleansers! Just like the 3 different Pure Clay Masks, the new L’Oréal Pure-Clay Cleanser line contains three different clay-to-mousse cleansers – one to detox, one to exfoliate and one to absorb excess oil.
Each of the L’Oréal Pure-Clay Cleansers is powered by 3 different clays in their pure form and enhanced with other nature-sourced ingredients. They’re formulated to transform from clay to mousse when water is added, removing everyday impurities, dirt and oil without overdrying.
I really liked the L’Oreal Pure-Clay Face Masks, especially the Detox & Brighten treatment and wanted to try the matching cleanser but ended up buying the Exfoliate & Refine formula as well…and I am glad I did! Both of these are a drugstore face wash well done!
L’Oréal Pure-Clay Detox and Brighten Cleanser is designed to detoxify and purify your skin of dirt, oil, and pollution. The formula is enhanced with 3 pure clays and charcoal to help draw out impurities for clean & clear skin. It is supposed to be suitable for all skin types.
This clay cleanser has a lightweight creamy gel texture that’s easy to work with. It doesn’t foam up a lot but has a light lather. It leaves my skin thoroughly clean and refreshed without any dry, tight feeling. My skin is naturally dry but I didn’t find this clay cleanser to be drying at all and I love that! I think it’s gentle enough for daily use. It also removes makeup easily but if I am wearing heavy waterproof makeup, I like to use this face wash instead.
L’Oréal Pure-Clay Exfoliate and Refine Cleanser is designed to exfoliate and unclog pores for skin that feels smoother. The formula is enhanced with 3 pure clays and red algae to clarify skin of dirt, oil and pollution. Plus, it contains salicylic acid too.
This clay cleanser is more of a cleansing scrub as there are tiny exfoliating granules in the rust-colored formula. The scrub particles don’t feel abrasive on the skin but I like to use it only twice a week, not daily. It leaves my skin feeling smoother, soft and clean. No dryness, no irritation!
This cleanser is said to be suitable for oily and combination skin but I find it to be a nice and gentle option for my dry skin as well. It also claims to make your pores appear tighter and minimized with continued use but I haven’t used it long enough to see a difference in my skin texture and pores.
Bottom Line
L’Oreal Pure Clay Cleansers tick all the right boxes for me! Many clay based cleansers or scrubs can be too drying but that’s not the case at all with these ones from L’Oreal. They do a great job of cleansing thoroughly without stripping the skin of its natural moisture and work well even for my dry skin. Well done L’Oreal!
Whether or not you are a fan of the L’Oreal Pure Clay face masks, I do recommend trying these Pure Clay cleansers…you might just find a new favorite drugstore face wash! At only $6.99, you get a generous amount (4.4 oz) in each tube so these are well worth considering.
L’Oreal Pure Clay Cleansers are available now at Ulta and Amazon.com
