Matte lips are still having a moment and looks like the trend is here to stay. As much as I love a good matte liquid lipstick, I tend to gravitate towards creamy and glossy, more moisturizing lippies as the colder weather ushers in.
So, when I spotted the new Revlon Kiss Plumping Lip Crème at Ulta last weekend, I couldn’t resist picking up a few shades to try!
Described as a multi-benefit lip enhancer for smoother, fuller looking lips, the Revlon Kiss Plumping Lip Crème offers a gentle plumping effect with a creamy shine finish. I am not really a fan of lip plumpers, but the ‘lip creme’ part of the name lured me into adding these to my not-so-little lipstick collection!
The new Revlon Kiss Plumping Lip Crème is available in 10 shades, ranging from neutrals like Cashmere Crème and Nude Honey to brighyt & bold shades such as Rich Bordeaux and Spiced Berry.
I picked up thee shades from Ulta – Almond Suede (rosy brown nude), Apricot Silk (peach) and Spiced Berry (pink-ish berry)
Formula wise, the Revlon Kiss Plumping Lip Crème has a creamy liquid lipstick texture with an opaque color payoff and a shiny finish. Like most lip plumping products, it has a cooling sensation…it’s mild and lasts for about half an hour. Personally, I am not a fan of the tingling or cooling effect but I don’t mind it either as long as it’s not strong.
Although not very lightweight, the formula has a hydrating, comfortable feel on the lips but the moisturizing effect isn’t long-lasting…the moist feel goes away fairly quickly as the color starts wearing off.
This lip creme does have a gentle plumping effect and make my lips look fuller. That said, there’s not much of a noticeable plumping so you might find that disappointing if you are looking for a plumper that gives your lips va-va-volume.
The formula also promises to ‘visibly enhance the size of lips overtime’ which sounds nothing more than a lofty claim to me.
Revlon Kiss Plumping Lip Crème definitely leaves something to be desired when it comes to longevity. The staying power is ok but not too good…I get only about 2 hours on average and that too without a tea/coffee break. The formula is not smudge or transfer-proof either and tends to leave behind stains on my coffee cups.
The color payoff is pretty good for all the three shades I tried…here are the swatches. My favorite out of these is Spiced Berry.
Bottom Line
Overall, I am disappointed with the new Revlon Kiss Plumping Lip Crème. The formula doesn’t stand out in any way…whether it be texture, hydration, wear time or plumping effect.
Although this product doesn’t leave my lips feeling dried out, I often find myself reaching for a lip balm before applying it to keep my lips hydrated for longer. Not to mention, it’s $9.99 (for only 0.25 oz) each which is a little bit pricey as compared to other drugstore liquid lipsticks that are long-lasting and won’t dry your lips.

Thanks for the review. I really love the makeup of this brand. And disappointed that the lip gloss they have failed. Although I like the color.
