New from L’Oreal comes an exciting range of liquid lip colors, called the L’Oreal Rouge Signature Matte Lip Ink.
Described as a ‘Lightweight matte colored ink that delivers a stain-like feel with the color impact of a liquid lipstick’, this new lipstick promises a highly pigmented and long-lasting formula with a weightless, bare-lip sensation. It’s all about less texture, more color!
L’Oreal Rouge Signature Matte Liquid Lipstick comes in 12 shades ranging from everyday nudes to classic red, hot pink and purple . I tried out 4 colors – 410 (I Enjoy), 416 (I Create), 426 (I Am Worth It) and 428 (I Explore).
Let me just start off by saying that L’Oreal is one of the beauty brands that’s a mainstay in my makeup life. I am especially a huge fan of L’Oreal’s lipsticks! And I am happy to report that the new L’Oreal Rouge Signature Matte Liquid Lipstick is another great addition to the brand’s lineup of lip colors!
Texture-wise, L’Oreal Rouge Signature Matte Lip Ink is like a hybrid with a liquid-lipstick-meets-lip-stain formula. It glides on very smoothly & evenly and is super lightweight…feels like I’ve nothing on my lips!

All you need is just two coats to get rich and vibrant color that sets to a soft matte finish. If you want to build up the color even more, layering is also easy with this formula.
The best part is that it’s matte but not at all patchy or drying, unlike many matte liquid lipsticks that start to feel uncomfortably dry or tight after about an hour or so. Not to mention, it feels weightless!
Another great thing about L’Oreal Rouge Signature Matte Lip Ink is the shape of its doe-foot applicator with a pointed tip that is perfect for precise application. As someone who often messes up applying liquid lipsticks, I am loving this pointy wand which makes it super easy to get perfectly lined lips!
L’Oreal Rouge Signature Matte Lip Ink also excels in the longevity department. It holds up really well for hours and stains your lips for long-lasting color that won’t budge! It also wears off evenly. The formula isn’t completely transfer-proof though and tends to leave slight lipstick marks on coffee cups. And I definitely need a quick touch-up after a greasy lunch!
Here are the swatches of the 4 shades I tried…all packed with pigment! My favorite is 426 (I Am Worth It), a beautiful red with pink undertones that I think is universally flattering…it would look pretty on every skin tone!
Another of my favorite is the shade 416 (I Create) which is a pinkish nude. This one is just a tad deeper than my natural lip color, so it’s like a ‘my lips but better’ shade for me. I find myself wearing it quite often! Here are the swatches:

Bottom Line
From its ultra-lightweight texture to the pigment-packed formula that wears long and strong without making my lips feel desert-dry, I am loving everything about the new L’Oreal Rouge Signature Matte Lip Ink
It really is the perfect combination of a lip stain and liquid lipstick (minus the dryness!) L’Oreal totally nailed it with these new lipsticks!
