New from CoverGirl, Clean Fresh is a vegan makeup collection made with skin-loving ingredients like hydrating coconut milk and aloe vera to give your skin a fresh, healthy glow.
CoverGirl Clean Fresh makeup is formulated without talc, parabens, formaldehyde, phthalates, mineral oil or sulfates. The products are also 100% vegan and cruelty-free so they’re never tested on animals.
The Clean Fresh makeup collection features four new products: Skin Milk Nourishing Foundation, Cooling Glow Stick Highlighter, Cream Blush and Tinted Lip Oil.
CoverGirl Clean Fresh Cream Blush ($11.99)
Infused with hydrating hyaluronic acid, this cream blush comes in 4 high-pigment shades that provide buildable color with a dewy finish.
Most of the cream blushes I’ve tried add a sheer-but-buildable wash of color but this one is totally packed with pigment. CoverGirl is not kidding when they call it ‘high-pigment’! A little goes a very long way!
When I tried the Clean Fresh cream blush for the first time, I just used a couple of dots and it gave me way too much color. I was really not expecting such an intense color payoff! In short, all you need is a tiny dot to get a natural-looking flush. So, if you tend to be heavy-handed with blush, make sure to start with very little as this cream blush is very easy to overdo.
While described as a cream, this (fragrance-free) blush has more of a lightweight creamy gel texture that’s easy to apply and blend with your fingers. When you first squeeze the blush out of the tube, it seems to have a slight metallic sheen but once blended on the skin, it sets to a soft, dewy finish giving you a lit-from-within glow.
And the best part is that it wears well throughout the day without fading. If you are a fan of cream blushes, Covergirl Clean Fresh is AMAZING and a must-have! Not to mention, it comes with an affordable price tag and the compact tube is cute and travel-friendly. I give it a two thumbs up!
Here are the swatches of all the shades : 330 Sweet Innocence, 350 Flushed, 370 Butterflies and 390 Ripe & Ready
Covergirl Clean Fresh Tinted Lip Oil ($10.49, only at CVS)
This tinted lip oil contains hydrating vitamin E, pomegranate and coconut oil to keep lips soft, smooth and conditioned. It comes in 6 shades that provide sheer color with shine and moisture.
These lip oils glide on easily, providing just the right amount of buildable color plus shine. The color is not too sheer, not too bold and easy to layer on without seeming over-the-top. This is also great as a top-coat over any of your favorite lipstick for a pop of shine!
The formula isn’t sticky at all and feels hydrating on the lips. The glossy color doesn’t last though coffee break or lunch and you’ll need to re-apply.
The only thing I didn’t like about this tinted lip oil is the perfume-y fragrance/flavor. It’s a bit too strong for me when first applied. This might not be a problem if you happen to like it but I don’t enjoy it. Here are the swatches of all the shades:
Covergirl Clean Fresh Cooling Glow Stick ($10.99)
This is a portable shimmer highlighter stick that can be used on cheeks, eyelids or lips–anywhere you need a little extra glow. As the name suggests, it has a cooling effect on skin but it’s not much and doesn’t linger around (which I think is a good thing!)
Just like the cream blush, this highlighter is well-pigmented (although not as intense!) so you just need one or two swipes. It goes on smoothly and blends out easily with fingers or a brush, adding a soft luminous glow.
The finish is glowy but not at all glittery or sparkly. The formula is also easy to layer if you want to amp up the glow factor! And it holds up well through the day with minimal fading. Available in 4 shades: 100 Pink Thrill (my favorite!), 200 Opal Dreams, 300 Transparent and 400 So Gilty.
One thing that’s worth a mention is that this Glow Stick highlighter has a fairly strong fragrance but thankfully it fades away after about an hour. Overall, this is a good product at a price that’s nice. Perfect for glowing on-the-go!
The Covergirl Clean Fresh makeup collection also includes a new Skin Milk Foundation ($12) that promises hydration plus light coverage with a dewy finish. I haven’t tried this foundation yet but it sounds like a nice option for everyday wear!
