The Inkey List Succinic Acid Acne Treatment is a new targeted spot treatment that is designed to clear acne spots fast while being gentle and non-drying.
As the name suggests, the star of this acne treatment is Succinic Acid – an anti-inflammatory ingredient that helps reduce the appearance of blemishes and decrease excess oil levels in the skin. While targeting active acne breakouts, Succinic acid has a gentle peeling effect that gently exfoliates skin and clears pores while preventing them from clogging again.
In addition to 2% Succinic Acid, this acne treatment contains 1% Salicylic Acid which is a well-known acne fighter. Plus, the formula also has 2% Sulfur which helps unclog pores and 0.4% Hyaluronic Acid that hydrates the skin.
KEY INGREDIENTS:
2% Succinic Acid: Visibly reduces blemish size, reduces excess oil levels and unblocks pores
2% Sulfur Powder: Absorbs excess oil and unclogs pores for clearer-looking skin
1% Salicylic Acid: Gently exfoliates skin reducing dead-skin cell buildup while helping to shrink blemishes and blackheads.
Together, this powerhouse trio of acne-busting ingredients help clear blemishes fast and reduce inflammation.
How to use
Place a small amount from the tube onto a clean finger and apply directly onto the blemish (use only on the affected area and not all over your face)
Ingredients: Water (Aqua/Eau), Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Stearic Acid, Cetearyl Alcohol, Colloidal Sulfur, Glycerin, Succinic Acid, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Salicylic Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Squalane, Benzyl Alcohol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Polysorbate 60, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Hydroxide, Dehydroacetic Acid, Malachite Extract, Sorbitan Isostearate, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, CI 75810 (Chlorophyllin-Copper Complex)
I don’t struggle with acne frequently (although that wasn’t the case a few years ago!) but I certainly get breakouts every now and then. And this acne treatment came in handy recently when my skin flared up…
So, does the new Inkey List Succinic Acid Acne Treatment really work to reduce the size of active breakouts and make them clear up faster?
Yes, it does! It is quite effective and really does speed up the healing process. A little goes a long way and what I like the most about this treatment is that it doesn’t leave my skin looking dry, flaky or irritated.
It can be applied to an active breakout up to three times a day. I used it once in the morning and then at night before bedtime. Within two days, my pimple looked a lot smaller in size and the redness was also soothed.
The green color of the formula comes from a natural chlorophyll derived plant pigment. It does leave a slight green hue on the skin where applied, so that’s a bit of a drawback but not a deal breaker for me. According to the Inkey List, you can use other skincare or makeup on top, just leave the formula to dry for 5 minutes before applying though.
Overall, I am really impressed with the Inkey List Succinic Acid Acne Treatment. It’s a gentle yet powerful formula that busts breakouts without drying out the skin. Not to mention, it’s super affordable at only $8.99 and cruelty free! Win, win!
Whether you have acne-prone skin or get the occasional breakouts (or struggling with maskne) this acne spot treatment is the perfect pick to clear blemishes fast! Available at Sephora for $8.99
The Inkey List has a great lineup of other amazing and affordable skincare products that are perfect for acne-prone skin…
The Inkey List Salicylic Acid Cleanser ($9.99)
Formulated with 2% salicylic acid, this is a lightly-foaming cleanser that removes makeup and dirt while helping to reduce blackheads and breakouts.
It also contains zinc compound that helps reduce excess oil and 0.5% Allantoin that helps soothe any irritation. Although the formula is geared more towards oily and acne-prone skin, I don’t find it drying or harsh on my dry skin.
The Inkey List Niacinamide Serum ($6.99)
Niacinamide is a wonderful ingredient for all skin types as it helps reduce hyper pigmentation, blemishes and redness while controlling excess oil. And it’s soothing and super gentle, even for those with sensitive skin!
This power-packed serum contains 10% Niacinamide along with 1% Hyaluronic Acid for added hydration. The fragrance-free formula has a very lightweight texture that isn’t greasy or tacky/sticky and layers beautifully under my moisturizer.
The Inkey List Hyaluronic Acid Serum ($7.99)
This is a great hydrating serum formulated with multi-molecular weight hyaluronic acid (2%) plus a Matrxyl 3000™ peptide that supports natural collagen production for an added plumping effect.
It has a super lightweight liquid texture that absorbs instantly without any tacky or sticky feel. I apply this right after cleansing my skin for a healthy dose of hydration. Also, fragrance-free.
The Inkey List Multi-Biotic Balancing Moisturizer ($12.99)
Lightweight and suitable for all skin types, this moisturizer helps to maintain your skin’s PH balance and also protect the skin against pollution. An unbalanced skin PH Level can show itself as accelerated signs of aging, irritation and excessive oiliness. It contains:
Yogurtene Balance 5%: Helps to provide skin with all the benefits of yogurt by reducing bad bacterica and replacing with good bacteria.
Brightenyl 2%: Helps to improve skin tone by brightening and controlling redness.
Squalane 2%: Provides hydration while supporting oil control.
I find this moisturizer very lightweight in texture but not hydrating enough for my dry skin in these cold winter months. It’s perfect for oily, acne-prone skin though!
