New from the INKEY List, Mandelic Acid Treatment is a gentle yet powerful treatment designed to reduce hyperpigmentation and fade marks caused by breakouts or blemishes without drying out the skin.
As the name suggests, the star of this treatment is Mandelic Acid – an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) derived from bitter almonds with a large molecule size making it suitable for sensitive skin with proven melanin inhibiting benefits to help reduce dark spots, hyperpigmentation and acne scars.
In addition to 10% Mandelic Acid, this treatment also contains 0.1% Retinol. This unique ingredient pairing works together, with Glycerin, to target discoloration and dark spots by subtly exfoliating, encouraging natural cell turnover, while hydrating the skin.
KEY INGREDIENTS:
10% Mandelic Acid: Reduces the appearance of dark spots, hyperpigmentation and post-breakout marks.
2% Glycerin: Deeply hydrates skin and draws in moisture.
0.1% Encapsulated Retinol: Helps to increase natural cell turnover to fade the appearance of dark spots and discoloration.

How to Use
This treatment is recommended to be used only at night. On cleansed skin, apply a thin layer to affected areas. Leave to absorb, then follow with a moisturizer. Suitable for all skin types.
Why should this treatment be used in the PM only? As this product contains retinol, it may increase the skin’s sensitivity to the sun. Always use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or more during the day.
Texture-wise, the Inkey List Mandelic Acid Treatment has a lightweight formula that absorbs quickly into the skin. As suggested, I use it in my PM skincare routine after cleansing and hydrating my skin with a Hyaluronic Acid serum.
After applying this treatment, I follow up with a moisturizer and a light face oil to seal in the moisture. I have dry skin so using a face oil provides an extra boost of much-needed hydration!
I started using this treatment only a week ago so it hasn’t been long enough to see any noticeable difference in my dark spots; it takes about 6 weeks to show results. So far, I have been able to use it every night without any irritation or sensitivity.
When it comes to skincare, consistency is key so apply regularly. It can be very tempting to increase use of some products to try and see quicker results, don’t overdo it though. More is not necessarily more, and overuse can cause irritation.
The Inkey List Mandelic Acid Treatment is available for purchase at theinkeylist.com and Sephora for $10.99. It’s vegan and cruelty-free.
The Inkey List also offers a Targeted Blemish Duo Kit ($18.99) that contains a full-size Succinic Acid Treatment (a gentle and non-drying acne spot treatment that works to reduce inflammation and clear breakouts faster) and the new Mandelic Acid Treatment.
